Ok, just did a quick search for watermelon art & came up with www.Watermelon.org .  There's a PLETHORA of ideas & pics to go with them over there.  Check out the KIDS IDEAS link where you'll find THESE IDEAS. Or how about the kid-friendly recipes ?

I don't know about you, but I'm seeing the  potential of having a KID-FRIENDLY WATERMELON SUMMER THEME SHOW, aren't you?  Some PC tools to use can be our Creative Cutters, the Cookie Cutters from the Kid's Cookie Making Set, any/all of our Stainless Scoops like for melon balls for the melon banana split recipe (did ya spot a similar scoop next to the pic?), My Safe Cutter, BBQ Skewers for the melon kebobs, the EAD for the FLAG CAKE, & oh so much more!!  We could also share their Healthy Eating Tips as a handout @ the show.

Sooo, what do ya'll think?  Good way to keep the kids busy during the summer & a chance for the adults to get out & socialize as well. A WIN-WIN situation IMO!!

Marian
PS  Just found this adorable watermelon divider while I was searching & thought this would be nice to add to a flyer for a Watermelon Show.... Hey, that's got me to thinking about a catchy title for this type of show..... any ideas on that end as well??

Oh, heck, here's the info from that page that I got the watermelon playdough recipe from:

Watermelon Theme / Unit

Watermelon Theme / Unit at Teaching Heart. Here is a ... Grade 2 is one in a melon! - students pictures in a melon!

It has LOTS of fab things to do with small kids that you could probably interweave in a Watermelon Theme Show.  Sorry, once a (homeschool) teacher always a teacher!! LOL

Play Watermelon Games

What is more natural than a seed spitting contest?

Or dry some watermelon seeds in advance and make collages.

Or play a Pin the Seed on the Watermelon game.
