Okay I know my director states catalog shows will not make you a large pay check.... I would love to have Tom's this month.

Okay long story short
I went to training  and Tom Marston was there (Yes, he's in my upline and there will be more great tips to follow!)

Okay he had held 6 kitchen shows and had 19 catalog show that where booked from them.... How you may ask???

No I can not Remember what he said word for word, but it was close to this.....

How many of you would love to have this months guest special at 60 % off? ( he usally has about half raise hands)

How many of you would like to hold a cooking show? (about 2 or 3 keeps there hands up)

Now for you of those who put your hand down how many of you would be willing to take a catalog and help your friends out by letting them shop for holiday gifts? ( a few raise their hands again)

Now how many for you would be willing to leave here with a catalog to collect orders if I let you in on a serect?
You only need $150.00 per S/H, & tax for it to count as a show!

He goes a step further, month that have mulitply host specails (like November.... a sell-a-thon month or Jan. when we need $7,500 to hit the bulls eye!)  Ahead of time he ask his cooking show host if she would like to get all three of the host special at 60% off?  If yes he tells the guest that the cooking show host will buy the other host special from them but only the first two... so this gets them to committ even faster!

So he let us know that he's smallest catalog show to date was $157.00 and his largest was $758.00 because the host wanted to do her holiday shopping for free so she went all out.

He then stated that so for this month his aver. for catalog show was $300.

OKAY I WOULD BE HAPPY TO HAVE HIS CHECK FROM JUST THE CAT. SHOWS.....$300 * 19=$5700

AND IF FOR SOME REASON THE 19 CAT HOST ONLY WANTED TO TURN IN $150 EACH THAT WOULD STILL BE  $150 * 19= $2850

Okay I have never hit the $4,000 plus level and would love to the month before christmas!!!!! And I want to go the  FREE stuff in Jan!

Keep me posted if anyone tries it and how it goes for you.  My next show is not till Nov. 4th

~Dawn

I have absolutely started using this in the past few months since I figured out how close I am to the bahamas.  I will gladly take a few thousand extra trip points!!!!  I make it even easier by telling them what is easier than having a catalog show is a "web show".  Where they do everything online and the "hostess" doesn't even have to figure out tax or even collect a check.  All they have to do is send out the emails and reap the rewards......and me????  I am going to the bahamas baby!

Great ideas!  Plus, think of how many friends or family that you know out of state.  They can't possibly have a cooking show for you, but can easily take a catalog around or email others your website.  I always encourage catalog shows by calling them the "no commitment" show--take a few catalogs, show them around, and then they're often surprised at how quickly orders come in.

Thank you for sharing the information about Tom's catalog shows.
I'm going to try that at my next cooking show, tomorrow night.

catalog shows can really pad your show total.

What I like to do is print out burst stickers and put them in the catalogs that I give catalog hosts, they say book a Jan show and get a piece of cookware at 60% off.

I have a question about catalog shows.  If they only have $150 in
sales, they don't get anything free, they just get the item at 60% off.
How does Tom handle this?  For that matter, how do any of you
handle that?   I just feel a little strange when someone doesn't get
anything free!

When you give them the show planner it says right on there that they do not get anything for free.  Most of my quicky october catalog shows didn't get anything for free they just wanted the knife at 60% off.  fine by me.  but I hostess coach my catalog shows to 300.  Now with the website I think that is making it easier to achieve.  But it is not like we are deceiving them.

Bev,

Think of it this way...if they only do the bare minimum, they are actually getting "free product value" but they are using it towards something that costs more.  For example, if they did $150 catalog show and choose the Santuko knife, it's like they are getting $42 in free product value.  That's not bad for that little bit of work they did to reach our minimum requirement.

Don't forget that with a $150 catalog show, they get a 15% discount on all they purchase.  This can be a big selling point to some as well....
