Hi! I'm looking for some suggestions for an upcoming show I have. The host wanted to have her show outside, I thought that would be nice since the show is June 1. She also wanted an easy recipe that we can do outside with or without the grill. It is supposed to be a jack n jill party, so I was thinking of doing the new red, white and blueberry trifle (since it doesn't require any cooking and would be easy to do outside) and perhaps an easy grill recipe and could put the guys against the girls as far as demo'ing the recipes. Now she is saying that she doesn't want a dessert and something with few and cheap ingredients. What?? Anyone have any "cheap" ideas for me for this show? The only thing I've come up with so far is the Cheeseburger Salad recipe and I could make the hamburger ahead of time so it was already cooked. Any easy grilling recipes? Everything in the grilling cookbook seems kind of too involved for a show demo. Thanks for any suggestions!! |

How about the Jerk Chicken Salad or the Avocado/Grapefruit/Chicken Salad (from the catalog). You can grill the chicken strips, or grill the whole chicken breasts and then cut in strips. |

Do pizzas on the grill. It is super cheap. Buy dough in the little packs 3-4 packs depending on how many people would be there. They are about 59 cents each(like muffin mix comes in) just add water, an onion, jar pizza sauce, pepperonis, green pepper, what ever toppings she chooses to have, and a large block of mozzerella cheese. I would be happy to send you my show outline. I actually just taght this to my cluster last night. Let the guests chop and slice and grate. Cost about $8-$12 depending on how many toppings she buys (she can keep it super simple with just pepperoni and cheese). I do this a lot this time of year and it is a huge draw. People can't believe you can do individual pizzas on the grill. So much fun! Misty |

I think it would work fine, my only hesitation would be costvs how many pizzas you would get from each can. I might give it a try this week and see. If you try it tell us how many you get too :-) Misty |

Pizza on the Grill Show Outline List of ingredients: 3 packages of pizza dough will do about 9 individual pizzas ( just add water and oil) 1 jar pizza sauce 1 green pepper 1 onion 1 package pepperonis 8 oz. block of mozz.cheese 1 can whole black olives 1 lb sausage ( can be regular or Italian ) Italian Seasoning extra self rising flour Anything else the host likes on pizza
Tools to Bring: Bakers Matt Exec. Small Saute Pan Bakers Roller Egg Slicer Plus Several cutting boards if you have them Bowl w/ lid for dough Food Chopper Any simple additions to put chopped/sliced food in Ultimate Mandoline or Deluxe Cheese Grater Mix n chop Jar Opener Forged Cutlery Utility Knife Smoothe Edge Can Opener BBQ Turner Can Strainer Large Stainless Steel Bowl Small bamboo Spoons
Show Outline
1. Before guests arrive make the dough per package directions. Cover and put in a sink of hot water to rise. Have the host brown the sausage using mix n chop while you make the dough. Turn the grill on and clean it if necessary. 2. Make the following stations around a table outside Make sure you have a large bowl with a plastic bag in center of table for a Trash bowl, Bowl w/ deluxe cheese grater, can of olives w/ can opener and can drainer, bowl w/ egg slicer plus for slicing black olives, cutting board w/ food chopper and onion, pizza sauce w/ jar opener, cutting board w Utility Knife and green pepper, Bakers Matt w/ bakers roller and bowl of dough have flour handy, 3. As the guests arrive have them wash their hands. Have everyone gather outside. Do the introductions, tell Everyone what they are learning that night. Ask them to each choose a station. I then go around the table and have each person perform their task (you don’t have to wait until each task is complete to move on to the next task) Ex. have person deseed pepper and slice into strips, person chops onions etc…Do not forget to give food tips during this time, they are using the tool, but you can add to it (ex. If you don’t need to use the whole onion, cut it in half around the middle, leave the side with the root with the skin on, store in fridge like that, it still thinks it’s whole and last several days longer in fridge) Also this is the time I talk about hosting a show to get free products, or point out a host bonus that is coming up that coincides with a tool they are using, I sprinkle in some recruiting . 4. Have guests grab a small paper plate and roll out a piece of dough to the size of the plate. Tell them to bring the dough to you on the plate. Turn grill down to med low.You will sprinkle with seasoning, place dough on grill with seasoning side up. It does not need to be a perfect circle the odd shapes make for a great laugh. After grill is full of dough, close lid, check after 1 min. to see if the dough is golden on bottom, if not close For additional minute or so. Once it is brown, remove dough from the grill to the paper plates with brown side up. Have guests add their sauce and whatever toppings the want then return to you. You continue cooking dough and cook completed pizzas till cheese is melted. They eat and drink. 5. Do a quick clean up by putting all tools in crate or tub to finish later. 6. Set up in the kitchen or on deck somewhere to take orders. Do the 3 pile system (recruit packet, host packet, recipe)
