I made the rice krispy ornament things from the new holiday cookbook tonight and......never again!!!  They were a mess.  Not easy at all!!!!  And my sprinkles did not look like the picture in the least.  They wouldn't stay together at all.  They've cooled for 2 hours now and I had to go back in and reshape them and stick them back together.  They are really cute, but soooo not worth the effort.  I almost used my tried and true trusty rice krispy recipe but decided to use the one in the cookbook.  Next time, if there ever is a next time, I'll be using MY recipe...or I guess I should say the recipe that came on the box of rice krispy's!

I agree--SO not worth the effort. We made them a few weeks ago and they looked terrible.  Sprinkle candy did not stick to ours either.

I have to say I tried making these but didn't use the recipe that was in the cookbook b/c of what ya'll had to say about it, & mine came out pretty dern nice if I don't say so myself. Of course, I used the recipe that's on the Rice Krispie box. The only thing I didn't like was how my red ones looked more like dark PINK ones!! LOL Oh! And I, too, was dissappointed w/how the sprinkles didn't adhere in a straight line but at least I got them to adhere even if they were ALL OVER the ornament. I ended up using a popsicle stick to make my indent for the Twizzler hooks & it worked out great! Once they were in the hole I gently smooshed the opening closed so the Twizzler hooks didn't pop back out. Other than that I was well-pleased & I got a lot of oohs & ahhs over them at Christmas dinner from various family members!

PS Forgot to mention that I used Baker's Joy to spray the inside of my Lg Scoop in the beginning & it that seemed to help tremendously with it not sticking.
