Ok, here is the report on my Pizza Grilling Show from last night.
First of all, a small bit of info about my host. She is a past host from last October. This time around, I just called her out of the blue and asked her if she could host another show. Well, I had a small problem getting her motivated. Or so I thought.
Ok, We did pizza on the grill and grilled Pineapple after the pizzas. I went to this show with no expectations except for good ole plain fun. I spent a good time before the show preparing for the show. To make it easy on my less than motivated host, I told her that I would bring the ingredients and she could just pay me $15 when the show closes. I made homemade dough with yeast and all. I prepreped all of the toppings. Our toppings included:
Pepperoni
Mesquite Chicken - heat and serve from Sam's Club - delicious for Quisadillas!
Thick sliced Deli Ham - cut into chunks
Thick sliced Bacon - sliced and cooked, not chopped - easy way to cook
Ragu Pizza Sauce - PC Italian Seasoning and Fresh Pressed Garlic added
Barbeque Sauce - for bbq chicken pizza - never opened.
Sliced Mushrooms - not used - actually we are using them for dinner tonight
Grilled ahead green & red peppers, Onions and Corn on the Cob. I did these items as soon as I arrived at the hosts house. Yummy
Fresh Mozzerella Cheese Grated, Cheddar Cheese Grated and Seasoned Feta Cheese
At home I made the pizza crust and I had to let it rise. After the first rising, I made them into bun size balls of dough, and let them rise again. I made 15 balls using a 3 cup recipe of dough. What I would do different is I would go ahead and flatten the balls into the mini size pizzas ahead of time. At the show, I let the guests roll out their own pizza doughs. The only thing that did was make it take longer at the grill.
Anyway, I spent the first 10 minutes doing intros and going over the business part of the show. I also talked about general info on grilling. Really, to be honest, I was flyiing by the seat of my pants as Marian put it yesterday, kind of long story behind that! So I demoed the first pizza and then I invited everyone to come up and make their own. The really nice thing was the grill, this host had a nice size grill. It had cast iron grates and a small shelf rack along the top. As it turned out, we ended up putting the Small Simple Additions up on that top rack, I put 4 of them up there. How convenient was that. The plates had the ham, chicken, onions, peppers and corn on them. So all they had to do when they were up at the grill is just reach up and put the toppings on. It was really cool.
Honestly, I really didn't do much talking about PC, they just all stood around making their pizzas and eating them. Then of course I peeled and sliced the Pineapple and put that on the grill after they had been grilling the pizzas for a while. So there were a total of 7 women there as guests, 1 brought her husband, and then a yard full of kids. The kids even got to get in there and make their own pizzas with the help of their parent. Remember, I made 15 balls of dough for the Pizza. The host had also purchased a can of the Pillsbury Pizza Dough and we finally pulled that out at the end.
What a great time eveyone had!! They were all talking about how they had never grilled pizza's and it was a lot of fun. During the order taking, I did ask each person if they were interested in hosting a show. One person interested of course was a past host of mine already. I need to send the September Specials and Catalog to another lady to see if she is interested.
Ok, so how were the sales? Great! Right now the sales are at $475. Yippee! Her show is already better than the first one she did with me. We will be closing this show on Wednesday. Now I am looking forward to selling the idea of grilling pizza shows again! Thanks for letting me share!
