Hi, my name is Katie and I am a new consultant out of Brunswick ME.  I am very quickly reaching my 90 day mark and I need a lot of help.  I am a military wife, and don't know anyone out here.  I had a grand opening party, but no one showed up.  I have had a catalog show with my family, but didn't even make enough to count for a show.  I have talked to everyone I know, and have had no luck.  I am 4 shows away, or 1150 away from being a qualified consultant.  Any help or ideas would be much appreciated.  I really want to try and get this before my 90 days are up.

Maybe you could do a "Mystery Host" Show to get some people out there. Have it in your home, give one "chance" to every buying customer who either comes to the show OR to anyone who gives you an order for $50.00 or more if they cannot attend. Also, give an "extra" chance to anyone who brings an outside order with them worth $50 or more, 2 for booking their own show, 2 for providing a solis lead for a booking (must have name address, phone, and date already set). Have drawing by placing chances into a bowl or pot at the show. One chance is pulled out and that person gets named as the show's host with all the benefits. This really can motivate sales, attendance, and excitement for booking more shows. Good luck! Let us know how things go!

I understand how hard it can be to get started when you don't know anyone.  However, there are a lot of things you can do with the military.

First, try your FRG.  Going to meetings not only will open doors for PC but also get you aquainted with some of the other wives on post.

Introduce yourself to your neighbors.  Are you new on post?  If you live on post it's not uncommon for neigbors to just come to the door to welcome you and say hi welcome to the neigborhood.  You can always use that as your chance to say Hey!  I'm having an open house to get my biz going here on post...please stop by and bring a friend!  I'm not sure if it's like this in all branches of service, but if you live on post each community has a Mayor.  Go talk to her.  Make friends.  She's likely been there a while to have been elected to the job.

I used to see Tupperware ladies all the time at our PX.  Find out how you can set up and how much it costs.

Do you have kids?  Since schools not in session you can take them to the park or the pool and meet other kids mommies!

PC is all about you get what you put in to it.  You can do this!  This board is a GREAT resource for help and ideas too.  It could be helpful to find a hospitality director in your area.  I know I had an AWESOME hospitality director at my last post and she helped more than I can ever thank her enough for!

I'm bringing this thread over to the General Board so you'll get more responses...
