Has anyone received their Stimulus Package Money?
My husband's SSN ends with 06 and mine with 08 and we filed electronically.
We should have gotten it by now.
What about you all?

MSN gremlins—aarrgh! This is the third time I have replied—just doing it from email since I can’t seem to post anything!

<![if !supportEmptyParas]> <![endif]>

My husband’s SSN ends in 14 and we used direct deposit and got ours on May 2nd. Maybe you didn’t qualify??? I found a website at some point that calculated how much and when to expect the money and it was deposited when it was supposed to be. Search Stimulus Check and see if you can find it.

<![if !supportEmptyParas]> <![endif]>

I did have a gripe though. They based it on 2007 taxes but your dependents by 2008. My son turned 17 in December but since he was born before 12-31-90, we did not get the $300 for him and he didn’t work and was claimed on our taxes so he doesn’t get anything. Since he will be 18 by the end of this year, he did not qualify as our dependent for this check. He is a junior in high school! Unbelievable!

<![if !supportEmptyParas]> <![endif]>

I posted directly to the loop like usual but the window didn’t close like usual—it went to the message list page. If I clicked back to the original message window and clicked refresh to see if the message posted anyway, it went to the groups home page. How odd! Anyone else having problems?

If you go to IRS.gov there is the stimulus calculator on the home page.

If you go to www.irs.gov you will be able to check when and how much you should get. Direct Deposit goes out first, then checks. Even though checks are based on projected next year dependents, if you claim him as a dependent on your return next year, you will get a credit for him and it will be added to your refund. You just won't get it now, but will instead get it when you next file. Did I explain that right? HTH

my hubby ends with 20 and we should have gotten ~ so he called and it turns out if you filed electronically with TurboTax/H & R Block or any other company that you received a reduced amount after their fees and then they deposited your $$ into your bank account - you will receive a HARD CHECK in the mail -----

The only way to receive a true direct deposit is if you filed directly through the IRS site without a "middle man"

HTH

I know I was upset when we found out --- we had a few things we wanted to pay for at the beginning of the month but now have to wait until next month RRRR

If you paid your TurboTax or other software fees with a credit or debit card, you will receive the stimulus rebate via direct deposit. If you had the fees deducted from your refund, you will receive a paper check in the mail. If the fees were deducted from your refund, the IRS did not receive your checking account information; it went to the financial institution that received the refund from the IRS & deposited it into your account. If you paid the fees with a credit/debit card, the IRS did receive your checking account information, therefore can direct deposit your rebate.

HTH.

For those who still have questions, I just received this today...

Important Tax Rebate Information

Dear Valued Customer,

We want to provide you with the most up–to–date information about the tax rebate to which you may be entitled.

Recently, you may have received a letter from the IRS advising you when to expect your Economic Stimulus Payment (rebate). That IRS letter may have inadvertently left off some important information. Taxpayers who chose to have their tax preparation fees deducted from their federal tax refund will receive their tax rebate in the mail, not via direct deposit.

Our records show that you chose this payment option in TurboTax. As a result, the IRS has determined that you will receive your tax rebate in the mail. This may result in you receiving your rebate on a date later than expected.

This situation, while not unique to TurboTax, is understandably causing some concern and confusion. To help further clarify the situation, below is the most current IRS rebate payment processing schedule, as well as additional resources about the tax rebates.

I hope you find this information helpful. If you still have questions, the best source for the most up-to-date information is www.irs.gov (see the "Rebate Payment Questions" link).

Sincerely,

Bob Meighan

Vice President, TurboTax Customer Advocacy
