Doesn't it just get you, or anyone, when the timing of everything doesn't work out?!?!?!?!?
My parents both have their airplane pilot's license and frequently fly. My dad just took the family up this past weekend, in fact. Tons of fun! If you ever get the chance to fly in a little 4-seater Piper plane, do it. The view and the sights are fantastic.
Anyway, my parents travel up to Osh Kosh, Wisconsin every July to help out and check out the huge air show/fly-in that is hosted at a local air field there. I think it was last summer, my mom was able to MEET Harrison Ford, AND he autographed her flight book!!!! You know he is a pilot.
He's also a supporter of the Young Eagles, which is a program that helps get kids interested in flying, and of course they get to go flying with skilled adults. My dad has flown over 100 kids through this program. My parents really enjoy being a part of the Young Eagles.
This summer, Harrison Ford made an appearance at the air show again, as did "The Luitenant Dan Band." If you're not familiar with that, it's the band that Gary Sinise formed in honor of his character from "Forrest Gump." My mom has pics of the band and Gary, as well as when she met Harrison Ford.
It's okay to be jealous, 'cuz I am!!!!!

Cool Jill. I have a vague memory of being in a small plane as a child but I haven't been in one since. Yes. They flew here to see the play. His co-pilot actually came with them and did the flying. My friends met the pilot too. I heard from someone who has a friend whose son works at our airport. He refueled it for the flight home and it was $3000 worth of jet fuel! I would love to see the Lieutenant Dan Band. I knew what you meant. I like Gary Sinise too! Of course he kinda creeped me out in "Ransom" Melanie |

Yeah, he was creepy in "Ransom," but that's an indication that he's a great actor, right?!?!?! : )
Jet and airplane fuel is expensive. And unfortunately it's not the same kind of fuel as cars use, so they're not interchangeable. Jet fuel has lead in it, whereas auto fuel doesn't. |
