I realize a great feature of this over the weekend.  I was using my "old" skinny microplane for ginger and I didn't have anything that would fit on the back to scrape off the ginger......... (except my finger! )
 
Our extra wide surface makes it quick and easy to gather up what you are grating.

I say I can grate a cup of parm cheese quicker with the Microplane then I can the DGG.
I already had a microplane grater that my hubby bought me before PC came out with theirs, I LOVE my microplane

I got this off a kitchen show CD......
 
because the microplane grates so finely it releases more oils (and flavors) so you can use less....... saving you money.
