Trifle Recipe....from April Wahl, WI
April shared this recipe on the directors loop- she made this up, said it was GREAT and easy....may want to try this too! Strawberry Cheesecake Trifle
1 pkg. (16 oz) Sara Lee frozen pound cake (thawed)
2 small boxes cheesecake instant pudding
1 3/4C milk
8oz frozen whipped topping (can use strawberry flavor)
1 can strawberry pie filling
Mix pudding with 1 3/4 C milk, and fold in cool whip. Cut pound cake into 1
inch cubes. Layer half the pound cake, half the pudding mix, and all of the
pie filling. Repeat first two layers. Enjoy!
Here's a variation on this recipe from Eileen Paul, director
Did this recipe with fresh strawberries instead of pie filling, added some strawberry ice cream topping to the berries, and it was REALLY great. I baked a Betty Crocker Pound cake in my Stoneware Loaf Pan, BUT the cheesecake instant pudding was not available at Safeway. I had two on hand. I did it for my own HWC fundraiser, served tea and that was it. Shows lots of tools. Garnished with a strawberry fan, but you can add toasted sliced or chopped almonds on top too.
Tastes great. Had some left over and ate it for BREAKFAST today.
