Cancellations and postponements will always be a part of our business. Even when we know that, it's still frustrating when it happens! <o:p></o:p>

 <o:p></o:p>

Last week we talked about getting your hostess's "buy in and partnership." This week let's talk about how to minimize cancellations and increase attendance. <o:p></o:p>

 <o:p></o:p>

Procrastination and low attendance are 2 of the biggest reasons hostess's cancel their shows. The hostess puts off inviting her guests and getting her guest list to you until it's so last minute that many people have other plans, so she cancels. Sound familiar? <o:p></o:p>


You can minimize the frequency of cancellations and postponements and increase your attendance by incorporating these ideas into your hostess coaching:<o:p></o:p>

  • One of our top leader's, Michelle, kept her hostess's excited and focused on their upcoming show by asking this question on every contact: "Do you remember what you receive for hosting a show?" She said nearly every time the hostess would respond, "no, can you remind me?" <o:p></o:p>

By keeping the hostess focused on, "what's in it for her," she stays excited and is more likely to get the invitations made, the guest list to you, and the reminder calls made.<o:p></o:p>

  • Make sure you get the wish list. $100 in free product can be too vague, and can quickly become something she can get next month when she has more time, and can result in a postponement. <o:p></o:p>

By creating a wish list, she knows exactly what she wants, and will be excited to get it sooner rather than later! It's a little bit like trying to decide if you really feel like going shopping today or going to the mall to buy that awesome black dress you've been wanting! Which one is more motivating?<o:p></o:p>

10 - 5 - 2.  I used to staple a brightly colored  ½ sheet of paper to each hostess packet with the following information on it:   <o:p></o:p>

Hostess Challenge
     10    Have 10 adult guests in attendance
     5      Collect 5 outside orders before the show
     2      2 bookings from your show (booked within 30 days of yours)
