Straying a little bit from the norm this week, but I thought with it being HWC month we'd do some HWC challenges!

This week I CHALLENGE you to do your research! This is a very important month with Pampered Chef. My personal favorite. Sure we're selling those cute "pink" products, but it's more than that. It's about us HELPING to save lives of women (and men)! And I'm a firm believer that every little bit helps.

So your challenge this week is to check out the many resources that we have available to us on CC and on the ACS website www.cancer.org and anywhere else you can find it. If you find a website with good info...post it. There are some startling facts out there. Read something, LEARN something and then post it here. I want to see a list a mile long with ANY information about breast cancer that we can share with our customers to get them as excited as I am about this amazing cause that we should be so honored to support.

Keep the posts short please! Not only so others can post, but also because it can be hard to read a bunch of facts and figures at once and soak it all in.

Ready...set...LEARN!

In 2008, an estimated 182,460 women and 1,990 men in the U.S. are expected to be diagnosed with invasive breast cancer, and 40,930 are expected to die from the disease.

Here are a couple of stats I found on www.BreastCancer.org:
 • While BC has been decreasing slightly over the past several years, the fact remains that every three minutes a woman in the United States is diagnosed with breast cancer.
 • Breast cancer is the leading cancer among white and African American women. African American women are more likely to die from this disease.
I could add more but I'll abide your wishes Michelle! These are startling enough....

Ok, I've taken a turn now. So WHO's next?

I know this challenge is a week or so old but I just couldn't resist posting this new finding about PREVENTING BC that I found over on Yahoo:

Interesting, huh?

From the Weekly Bites today:

You can sell our pink products for only one month, but every day 500
women are diagnosed with breast cancer. These products are heartfelt
gifts to a cancer survivor or to someone whose family has been affected
by this disease.
