I followed this story when it was happening and can't believe they are actually indicting the other mother.
What this article doesn't say is that Megan was diagnosed with the bogus disorder of ADHD and depression. So her shrink put her on methylphenidate - a mood altering psychotropic drug that is handed out like Ritalin is. Both drugs are known to cause suicidal tendencies and suicides actualized. Yeah; and physicians keep handing the crap out for kids that they have said are ADHD.
Also what it doesn't say is that Megan was underage for her own MySpace and shouldn't have been on it. Her parents knew she was on the MySpace and only stopped Megan that last time when her mother read some of what Megan was typing and what the others were responding back to her with.

... 99% people don't tell the truth online....

We have 177 memberships (yes, I know some
are the same people with different nics) so which
one is the honest one?

And why would you call all of the rest of us liars?

Con,

i have been in chatrooms since i was 12 even before myspace was born. in those chatrooms people lied of who they are to be liked and loved. they lied alittle bit more to be loved and cared for. when someone felt like the relationship is not going anywhere they one that lied alot would likely pull the suicide card so that person won't leave them. its a everyday thing in chatrooms.

 99%  ?

Do you have a link to proof your claim ?

I think you're lying and thus included in that 99%  !!!

she is one of many online that lie.

there are child pedophils, molesters, young kids trying to act like teenagers,
kids lying of there house hold, there health, there whole family, and etc...
those are the common lies i've run into...

i've views kids as young as 7 in chatrooms trying to hook up with someone order. i've viewd a 11 and 12 year olds decided which house to make out in.

you want proof? go in a kids chatroom and just watch...

i say 99% because there isn't many people tell the actual truth of themselves.

Joey,
do you mean to say that we are all lying because we don't divulge our real names or IDs? Or are you saying that some people lying in chats are common? But don't most of us know that there are some people who will do that?

I guess it could be looked at that Lori Drew is being prosecuted for lying.. "Prosecutors allege that Drew and the others violated MySpace's terms of service by using false information to create the account so they could "harass, abuse or harm" Meier, according to the indictment."

This is what I can still find saved online about it:

It was tragic but there is a lot that is being overlooked. Are we responsible for what others decide to do in cases like this?  I told a certain person (BD) years ago that he should just be gone - am I responsible for his death? One of the ramifications that I could see coming from this is that we all will have to use our real IDs or get prosecuted for something.

Blessed be

I guess all I can say is that children will engage
in childish behaviour and criminals will be criminals;
ie, pedophiles acting as pedophiles do ... lying and
lying in wait for their victims.

If one chooses to equate normal adult
behaviour with that of children or criminals
I don't have much to say about that other than,
"if you consider 99% of us (members of this
forum) liars, I'd like to see your proof."

Mars, people CAN be anyone they want to be online but what's the point in it? I do not believe that 99% of people lie about who they are while they are online. I can believe it happens with teenagers more frequently than adults but even at that I don't believe that most of them are lying.

Just because people can lie online doesn't mean that they do. Does anyone else remember the good old days when people would host chatroom parties and it wasn't stupid to go to one?

"Just because people can lie online doesn't mean that they do." the thing is its hard to tell if anyone is telling the truth as we are all guessing the tones as people type out messages online. if the story doesn't change they might be telling the truth...

"good old days when people would host chatroom parties" the only 'chatroom parties' i used to go was on AOL called pool party but it determines the either stupid or horney kids there...

"POS Parent Over Shoulder"
-----------------------------------------------
If you ever see me refer to someone or something as a POS, I'm saying something entirely different.
