In spite of what the pundits are saying, and on what they would like to see happen in the Democratic Party; I don't think Clinton will be V.P.. Former Mississippi Gov. Ray Mabus, an expert in Middle Eastern affairs, has been quietly stumping for Obama behind the scenes in most states. Previous to Obama's rock start rallies, Mabus would be pulling the strings to get events in line. He's Caucasian, a former governor,  and could appeal just enough to the working class to get their vote for Obama in the general election.

Who would be your pick?

If he doesn't pick Clinton he's going to really piss off a lot of people. Something like 18 million, I believe.

A diss is a diss, and that's what it will be if he does not offer it to her.

He is going to have to be very careful about what choices he makes. Clinton supporters are getting a little miffed with the realization that Delegates and Super-Delegates are the ones who really choose the candidate. And that even before she releases them, some of her pledges are switching and endorsing Obama.

I think it would be a huge mistake to ask her to be vp.  I wouldn't if I were him.  Sure there are some people that will be pissed, but they are pissed already, because she is not the nominee.  There will be some that won't vote for him, that supported her, but then, they wouldn't have anyway.  He better off to make a clean break with the past and start fresh and Hillary is neither new or fresh.

KYKArenSue,
the fact that she is neither 'new or fresh', as you put it, could be the most valuable asset he could have. He has only been a senator since 2004; hardly enough time to even get a jist of what committees are in Congress - let alone what each one does.
He was a governor before that. Not exactly prep school format for the foreign affairs issues that will be dumped in his lap if he gets elected. Clinton knows where all the bathrooms are in the White House; and sooner or later  - he will have to go. How many hallways can he dribble 'hope and change' in while he searches for the right handle to open the right door?

Yeah, well if experience is what we are looking for, then why not McCain?  He has more experience than Obama and Hillary combined.   That poor young upstart Obama....how can he possibly handle the Whitehouse.....even though he handled one of the most seasoned competitors and her campaign most readily with very little difficulty, for a preppy, that is.  I do believe he should seek someone with foreign affairs experience; that's why I think he should pick Richardson.  If he picked Hillary, he'd always have to be looking over his shoulder.  I'm sure they (the Whitehouse) will have staff to show where the nearest facilities are.....but it seems that Hillary never found them, because she's so full of shit!

You mean that you didn't have a little Gore/Bush de javu when the DNC gave votes to Obama that didn't belong to him? Since you are convinced he handled his competitor with very little difficulty, then why would he be looking over his shoulder?
Richardson has  many old connections to Kissinger and the Nixon group; but is deft in foreign affairs. And also wants to give driver's licenses to illegal immigrants. A great ambassador,  but not VP.

Aw, Womyn, you sound just like my mom.....what's done is done, the DNC did what they did.

Well, as far as the looking over his shoulder comment, I was joking, regarding the rumors of what Hillary would do to get what she wants.

As far as Richardson's experience, he's well versed in negotiations, foreign affairs, administrative (governor) and congress.....he's a perfect choice......

I think he needs Hillary. There are a number of key states where current polls show him trailing McCain.

I see his needing her also to pull those states for him, or I guess I should say, to pull those states for the Democratic party.
I have a knee-jerk reaction when I see someone hosting the crowds of people in the numbers  that Obama has been having. Bush did the same thing.

His campaign managed to get first time voters enthused enough to get out and vote. But can he carry that momentum to the general election?
