As campaign rallies take an alarming turn from nasty to menacing, from both campaigns, it is worth remembering Voltaire's assertion:

"Those who can make you believe absurdities, can make you commit atrocities." ---Questions sur le miracles, 1765

A political poem

Deceit is the liberal's stance.
Foolish ideas they advance.
But many voters are in a trance.
It's common sense we must enhance.
Does capitalism have a chance?
Will freedom get a glance?
Or does personal choice get the lance?
Look how Democrats dance, as the U.S.A. becomes France!
