Rather than a lawyer, you need a literary agent with experience in screen rights, electronic rights, etc. The average lawyer has no experience or real world knowledge about the things that agents work with every day. The agent will work for a small percentage and will continue working with you. Lawyers get to bill hours. A reputable agent will not. A reputable agent will get you far more money as it is in his or her best interest. An agent can shop your book for you and get it published. Agents rock! Especially if you are new to the game. |
