I did not want him and still don't but he is the winner. Our country has weathered a lot since its inception, so we should be able to weather Obama. The Dems were not able to get that super majority of the senate so there is still a tad of the checks and balances left for us, though many of the liberal Republicans will side with the Dems a lot. We can now also look forward to Obama giving amnesty to all illegals and letting everyone know that as long as you are a minority it will be ok for you to break the laws. That is what him giving amnesty to the illegal criminals will mean. I will pray that Obama and the Dems don't go too crazy on us.

It is now time to start the action to get ALL states to get rid of affirmative action and start allowing ALL people to make it or break it on their own. The fact that Obama could become President absolutely proves without a doubt that there is no more need for affirmative action and other idiot quotas for the minorities in this country. That would be the best thing he could do as President, though I know he won't. It will be up to the individual states to get it down, as some already have.

Absolutely!

Abolish affirmative action.

Obama has to produce. This is perhaps the last Democratic mandate, before the nation abandons both for a serious third party.

It's not going to be easy being America's 44th President and Obama need the good will of all Americans to take on this huge job. As we can see already that will NOT be coming from all Americans and that's a shame.

History is making an abrupt change as a new generation takes over and it will be traumatic for many. Either they will adapt or they will fall by the wayside. So be it.

Having a black man elected president is, IMO, the fulfillment of much of what America stands for. For all those naysayers who have claimed that the glory days of America are behind her, yesterday American voters came out in throngs and proved them wrong. America has proven to the rest of the world, and to many Americans as well, that the American dream CAN be attained by anyone who tries.

This is the greatest nation on earth and we proved that fact, yet again, yesterday.

Now if someone will just ship Sarah Palin's yammering ass back to Alaska and keep her there...

Remember when you were little and got to stay home from school because you were sick? Well Black America, you aren't sick any longer. It's time to get up and go to school.

I am white and want all Americans to succeed. Some blacks are successsful and some whites are failures, but the overall statistics show that black america as a whole is failing in almost every statistical category.

The rest of America has heard every excuse in the book why.. bad cops, bad drug laws, white people keeping blacks down.

WAKE UP.. the water has been poured. Time to get up. No more excuses. We now have a black president. If Obama with his shady background and muslim sounding name can get elected to the presidency, anything can happen. No more excuses.

So turn down the rap music. Black men, it's time to call your baby mama's and make a play date with your kids. Time to adjust the car seat so you can see out the window. Time to pull up the baggy pants and tighten those belts. It's time to join the rest of America as law abiding hard working citizens.

For black americans who haven't used excuses and went out and succeeded, good for you and this is your chance to pick up the rest of Black America and tell them to wake the heck up.

We all want black america to succeed. After all, we are all americans. Black America, you got your black president. Now all eyes are on you and there are no more excuses.

THE WORLD WELCOMES OBAMA'S VICTORY!

From Berlin to Jerusalem, The UK to Iraq, Spain to Russia, France to South Africa, Cuba to Iraq, Pakistan to Iran, South Africa to Afghanistan, Poland to Kenya,  people around the world are reacting with pleasure and relief to see a change in the White house and to welcome Barack Obama to the world stage. It is an enthusiasm that is humbling and contagious. The world needs America and America is back! There is a sign of relief that can be heard around the globe. It seems to be the first good news this tired old world has heard in a long time. What a wonderful time to be an American!

While I'm elated he won, I do not believe he could have won if he had some of the typical traits of African Americans.  Yes, his father was from Africa and his mother from America so that makes him a true 100% 50/50 African American - which is different from someone who grew up in America as the descendant of slaves.  It is different from someone who was raised by a family with generations of broken English without the benefit of accurate language to learn as a child.  It's just an observation.  I'm just saying we aren't really ready to allow people from the ghetto to get a stronghold on political power just yet - although after last night, it will be more accessible.

I posted the truth. Now that Obama has proven that anyone can make it to be President, then there is no longer any need for affirmative action for any minority. Of course, we will probably see even more since Obama seems to favor giving people what they did not work for.
