Forgive me if this has been covered, but it seems we are short of a few school photos. The '67 and '70 photos (and presumably '65, '66, '68, '69) were done by Panoramic Groups Ltd from Brighton - I cannot read the phone number. Does anyone have school photos by a different company? The reason? It would be good to get hold of copy photos for every year ( Eduardo Rodriguez-Larrain wants copies too) There are some 'classics' which I am sure occurred in later years too where back row inmates took advantage of the slow clockwork mechanism used to pan across the assembled rabble and appear twice on the photo. If you have contact information I will be happy to try to gain copies (if they still have them) Biggles |

Biggles,
There an option rarely used on this site ... when people upload photos, they have an option of saving them as "photo quality image". Aprently this means (I think) you can order a hard copy from MSN. Of course this means that the photo will be at the resolution of the person scanning the image in and subject to any errors they made doing it ...!!
Also I guess you'd have to hand the money over to MSN. The photos are only kept on-line for 45 days, or if someone orders the photo another 45 days ....
Maybe a the school reunion we can get really good images of School Photos scan them in at good resoution and have them aviable for order off the internet ...
Anyone interested in this idea ??
Mike

Just in case nobody knew/cares - The cpmpany that did the school photos certainly up to '70 and maybe beyond was dissolved on 13th December 1985 Biggles |

Biggles, The last time that I acquired a school photo,it was from Gerry and they were scattered all over the floor of a room in one of the new blocks. That might have changed now,as we are talking about the early 90's,though I very much doubt that any more organising has gone into it. Nick. |

Looking through the school photos it quickly becomes apparent that there are names against inmates in 1 year but they are not named the following year although they appear on the photo. In the 1971 photo there are names I remember and I left in 1970, These are for instance: Paul Reyland Bimal Shah John Carver Grant Masterton Shaun Hext Nigel Ward Terry Baggs Trying to match their faces to the 1970 photo is not easy (a 30 year gap doesn’t help) but there must be other instances where inmates have been at QS for a number of years but are only named for 1 of those years. Can those with the time try to match those remember in all years? Biggles |

OK the 1982 School Photo (thanks to Robbie Childs) is ready for those eager to add names to faces (see link below): MSN is being glitchy so I'm unable to add the "how to edit" the photo list on this page without it loosing the whole list (my 4th attempt so I think I'll leave it for now) I'll put the help bit here for the moment: | How to add people to this Photo List: (1) Click the “edit photo list?button atthe top of this page ?the button looks like a pencil writing on a notepad i.e. (2) Then click the blue pencil icon which appears midway up on the left-hand side of the photo ?the button looks like a blue pencil i.e. (3) Wait for a little while whilst the page loads up. (4) If the Text Boxes look blank then hit the refreash / reload button (5) Get typing (6) Save ** HELP ** If you are using Netscape or find editing this list a little foreboding then you can simply add these people to the following message board and I will add these people to the Photo List for you at a later date for you: | |

Hi All I've made an change to the off community annual school photo numbering page - i.e. where you can help add names to faces of people in the old school photos: The new site is wiki page which means anyone can edit it. The old page people worked by people sending me names by email, which then meant that I had to update the page. The wiki site is more interactive. Have a look and see what you think - any feedback would be useful, e.g. do you think this wiki format is better, was it easy to understand and use. Yes there is some scope for vandlaisation, but if the site is backed up every so often shouldn't be a problem. All the best Mike |

Rocker keep looking!! Also, I'm after higher resolution school photos of 1965, 1982, 1988 and 1990. Also the 1980 photo exhists (I saw Matron's copy) but we do not have one on the site ... anyone have it and care to scan it? Note you can scan the photo in sections and email ( [email protected]) me the sections and I will 'glue' then together! Thanks Mike |
