For some reason, the famous past of interhouse games has sprung into my mind. I am sure the class of 90 will recall the even games we used to participate in around the fields and halls of quantock. The situation at the time seemed a little unfair with coledridge having more and seemingly better players at most events. I am not sure who selected the teams but i'm glad I was not a member of the Fleming team that was consistently beaten 68-0 at rugby. What is more amusing is the events that used to be played and the rivalry between the sides. I remeber in the first year losing a deciding match in snooker to neil dunn in the room next to the tv + fire where the stench of dog filled the air and the the rank & file waited for the tuck shop to open and your fifty pence to be spent. Other interhouse events included chess, unihoc as well as the normal sports of course. I remember blakey being alright at cross country although phil muir seemed to have a rocket up his ass and could go around twice before anyone else had got up that massive hill, was it stony path or someting. I also recall paul galley and one other mischevious sole heading across that camp ground and cutting a good 10 minutes off the run. You always were a clever one. I am suprised we did not have interhouse darts or something similar although I am sure some of you can remember some intresting tales. |

Bwahahaha! Gold star/house point for you there, sir. That said, we never did have a "house points" system at Quantock, did we. Or did we? Inmates of the 60s/70s/90s, help me out here. At least we never did when I was at the school. Which was maybe just as well for Coleridge, because Michael Burrows and I would have cleaned up in the sciences and maths (well maybe just me in maths...) |

Rick - you dont half talk a load of shite dont yer..... interhouse drinking we'd win hands down - look at the state poor old murray got last time !!!! It looks like we are outnumbered again - myself and Paul 'Wolfie' Davies are the only blues I think.....so pick yer best 2 and we'll see when it comes to a sport that counts which team is the best...... C'mon U BLUES....... |

I have to agree- being a hardened rugby girl freshly returned from tour I think we would win- consumption of alcohol is something else coleridge is great at. Downing pintage in under 10 seconds, think I could manage that, and I haven't lost a shot race yet! Rock on Coleridge- sorry flemming ya crap and you know you are!! (you know the song keep singing!!!!) |

is this really the spirit of the old school, i think not, we should live in harmony with each other.... as long as those fleeming numpties know their place....i mean like a sort of quantock unity.... anyway flemming are shite and what sort of colour is green anyway! as for the girl shoutinng how many records she broke, are you a shy retiring type? |

Empty vessels make the most noise.... There can be only one !! Whilst the mighty may have fallen - it does not mean that those who replaced them at the top were actually better !! Rome and Ancient Egypt spring to mind here!!!! Only those who feel inadequate ever feel the need to prove themselves constantly and boast of their prowess. The best know it and exude, without the need to harp on about it ! |

Very true but there is nothing wrong with being proud of yours and your fellow man (womans) acomplishments- besides which the message board is a way of informing students passed about what happened afterwards in the school!! And to answer the other question I don't think I would call myself shy unless you put me in a room with a bunch of people I don't know but who know each other- then I am painfully shy! (and yes I realise the question was probably rhetorical) I am true to my house- Coleridge vs Flemming- the old school do I see a future challenge??? how did the drinking go??? |

Naomi - Drinkies session is this weekend. I can't wait. We are going to the school, and then moving onto a small Inn nearby. We will of course let you know the results, but I can honestly say right now that this is a foregone conclusion. Did you get my last e-mail, by the way? |

We are well kitted up with camera gear - three standards, two digis and at least one camcorder - so we will not be short of material to post up here. I hope to finally get round to upload some AVIs on my site. But my update will only coincide with adding more biographies. So come on people, let's have 'em! |

Shit loads of phots have been taken on three digital camers, Muz, Daz and mine, plus 90 minutes of video (obviously I suspect Rick shan't be uploading quite all of it !)
I will upload my phots shortly (post message checking in fact)
Drinking - large portions of, bear wandering around shitting in peoples mouths this morning too (hence sore heads and foul tastes !) No 'fatalities' with the drinking (not even Muz) - I reckon Flemming won the '87 drinking contest (but then Flemming usually won everything in class of '87).
More details will be posted on the sesh elsewhere |

excellent nights drinking, no casualties, no fightin - just a lock in till 3am and ales large! as for the drinking comp - flemming - yeah right! myself and Paul were the last people to go to bed so I think it's the blues who clinched it by about 10 minutes...... yep loads of photos, some very amusing/incriminating, I'll let you know when I put them up there.... see ya |

Coleridgites last to go to bed - perhaps, though by as much as 10 minutes is debateable.
But then Coleridge did have an EXTRA long lie in the following morning - being the last to surface and then only under duress !!
Blakey/Rick - I think you should add the attribute of 'House' to peoples profiles so we can see how many Greens and Blues there are. |
