1 15-oz (425 g) can applesauce
1 15-oz (425 g) can apricot halves, drained
1 15-oz (425 g) can pear halves, drained
1 15-oz (425 g) can sliced peaches, drained
1 15-oz (425 g) can white cherries, drained and pitted
1 15-oz (425 g) can pineapple chunks, drained
1/2 cup (125 ml) brown sugar
Cinnamon to taste
Freshly grated nutmeg to taste
1 cup (250 ml) coarsely chopped walnuts, pecans, or nuts of your choice
Layer the fruits in a lightly greased 3-quart (3 L) baking dish, sprinkling each layer with brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Top with the chopped nuts and bake in a preheated 300F (150C) oven until heated through, 20 to 30 minutes. Serves 8 to 12.
