Here are the steps:
First: Crop your picture down to what you want.
Second: Select Image /Mode/Greyscale
Third: Select Filter/sketch/photocopy play with sliders
Fourth : Select Image/adjustments/brightness-contrast
Fifth: Clean up floaters, thin areas and other edits using paint brush
It works with 85% of the pictures I've tried.
