" I'm the lizard king, I can do anything."
                                                                              Jim Morrison

The lizard king is a mythic figure created as an alter ego by Jim Morrison, lead singer of the popular psychedelic rock group The Doors. Morrison was fascinated by the lizard, believing that it symbolized a powerful force in the subconscious mind, epitomizing fear and longing in the psyche. The lizard king allegory represents a transcendent experience dormant in all humans, an archetype of the subconscious mind, like the achievement of NIRVANA...

Hmmm, I had a response for our lovely Lazz  and her incredible artistry, but it seems to have disappeared. Hmmm

Anyway, like Iced mentioned Lazz, you are getting, nothing less than better and better.

Jim Morrison and The Doors, had quite an affect on those of use in the older crowd. He at his best, was one of my favourite artists.

Well done, Lazz!

Strong images both the two. They well set Jim Morrison on his complexity. He, as the other three Doors, was a man of good culture, he read a lot. And the songs were a way to show the hardness of being young on those years. They were years not of changing, too hard is to change the system but of taken of conscience of the problem. Morrison knew that the world was wrong because it was blind but at the same time he knew how impossible was to change it. The Oliver Stone's movie has misunderstanding Jim Morrison, it stops at the first level presenting him just as a rock star addicted to alcool and drugs.

The name Doors comes only indirectly from William Blake, it comes instead directly from the Aldous Huxley's book "The doors of perception", 1954, about mescaline and its effects on the human perception.

In few months, from 1970 to 1971, we had lost Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix and Jim Morrison because of abuse of alcool and drugs. I will never accept it as a good thing but the same is wrong to say that they were only a kind of perverted. They were suffering the wrongness of a system.

Oliver Stone's movie don't show this, your two images do it clearly.

Well done, Lazz.

If the doors of perception were cleansed
All things would appear infinite

Totally agree with ya Sandro. Their very artistic lives most definitely influenced us. Their loss also effected, as well as influenced us. I would think, that their unfortunate loss, was a message, that came across faster, than if they didnt pass on, the way they did. I feel that the world, in it's red tape, changed faster and more comfortably by their lively influence, and even more importantly, their passing. Do you agree with me Sandro?
