Eat one now and again and it aids digestion, helps to rid the body of impurities. I am going to pickle some in vinager and sugar, in brine too. An old lady of a friend - about 98 years old now makes drinks - boiling water with lime preserved in salt. I have got preserved lemons, lime and kumquats that are a few years old, gone very dark and I too add boiling water to make a drink.
I believe that one needs to flush out these impurities in our intestines especially when one is middle aged because our digestion is not as robust as a younger persons. We also supplement with our herbal stuff, in teas and soups. If we did not rid such impurities often, one usually feel the symptons like, constipation, or very very hard stools, a white furry tongue, icicles forming at the corner of our eyes - when we wake up, even migraines etc. Eh by gum, I am turning into a doctor here...........
