The faily mild Winter , at least in our part of the country has certainly confused Mother Nature. The daffodils are well on their way up and the Juniper that I use interspersed with ivy and clematis to screen off the garden is in full flower. The ivy is also putting on vigorous growth as is the lawn grass. Across the road from me the bank in front of the church is a moss of yellow flowers, as yet unidentified.
We keep a pair of ducks in the garden, ideal for organic snail and slug disposal, and yesterday the drake attacked me, pecking at my leg and flapping his wings. I picked him ip and totally destroyed his tough guy image by tapping him on the bill. The point being the female must be getting ready to lay and he is asserting his rights over his territory. In January ?
Has anyone else noticed early signs of Spring?
