These are the foot ware that I wear when I go hunting or mushing in winter,
One cannot wear these on a mild day as your feet will get wet, It must be very cold. They are very warm.I have worn these with minus 35...
This is me younger years ,when I visted my mother in Ont, at her shop.
she is a seamstress and made all by hand,
The coat is of sealskin trimmed with wolf/
when I hunt or go for wood, I use Skidoo. Pull by komotik
If Not I use dog team
when I stop out in no where land I boil up. smoked fish ' Flummies' is ( Fried Dough)
Tea.

Lab, im sure that not many of us, living in the "Big City" can understand just how cold -35 can be. Freezing to say the least. Thanks for sharing these with us Lab. You are so very kind  |

ED, I should imagine it's something like the damper that they make in the australian out back. They cannot make proper bread as we know it. But it's a good facimile. Or if you are in africa, that stone bread. ie, That dough that you place over a rounded stone. In a fire. I should imagine it tast's like a drop scone, but without the fruit. In the process of discovery, trying to find out what a "Flummie" looks like i came across this group from Labrador Newfoundland. Have a listen and or send us a photo of what your perspective a "flummie" looks like. Lab you might be surprised. lol |

Wonderful
My family .
Two are my cousins in this band, They are the Flummies of Labrador, My cosuin Alton the lead singer .. Named his band after the ole trappers meal, Flummies, It is friend dough. usually taken from the bread that has risen,Most trappers back home would take this and when sit down for a boil up ,Meaning light out door fire , boil kettle, fry flummies ( fried dough ) in fry pan,.. I hope you enjoyed the band music, Their songs are usually made up about our people.
