Yesterday evening I went to Porcupine tree's concert, here in Rome. A nice one with the band in good form. Their songs are a mix of evocative moments (years ago, at a concert of them in a open space, we all the audience lay down on the grass to watch the starry sky while listening to their music) and pieces of strong energy. Something as if you pass from "If" of Pink Floyd suddenly to "Hit the lights" of Metallica.

The Porcupine have a strange story as they were literally invented by the leader Steven Wilson who was speaking of them a long before they really existed, I mean he did as the band was already going on. The first album too was intitled to the group but actually was Wilson to play all the instruments. And strange is also the fact that for a long time and maybe still now they are more famous in Italy (and expecially in Rome) than in England.

Two hours of good music, I enjoied them as always.

Unfortunately I had with me only a small and new digit camera so the pics are owfull. Well, that's not really a problem.

A rainbow caught on the way to the concert

(if you want more of them:  www.porcupinetree.com)

Ciao

I could only get the video to play, but sounds quite heavy metal?

Not really a heavy metal band, Jodie, or at least not only. They are a mix but probably we can say they are new-progressive.

It's a pity you get only the video because cliking on the two on the right of the video you can hear all the demos of the last album and, in the second one, four traks that you can even free download.

I hope you can do as that and thus, listening to "arriving somewhere", you will well understand what I was meaning writing:
