A Wish, A Prayer

I often pray to the heavens above,
That I will find true love,
The sky is the colour of love,
And sometimes at night,
The stars shine down on me,
From a black velvet sky,
Where I ask myself why:
Why I chose you,
Why my heart wants to be true,
For this love is true,
Your love has captured me with its intensity,
With its sheer will,
For I love you,
And always will,
You have unlocked this frozen heart,
You have made me that much more smart,
For this love is true and real,
Like the greatest work of art,
For I love you so much,
And this love will never depart,
For I stay grounded in your arms,
You fill me with your honesty and your charm,
So come into my arms tonight,
And lets make this love last,
Until the morning light.

I like it. I like the way my mind was teleported to different scenes and reminded me how I felt when love was all that mattered. When nothing else in the world made sense except being as close as possible to the one you love, despite that very same feeling sending your mind to far unimaginable places.

I'm really glad you enjoyed reading my poem! I did put a lot of thought and effort into writing it. I just love the imagery of it. It is definitely one of my best. I do hope you enjoy reading my other poems, too! Wishing you a great day.
