Grow From Concrete

A beautiful black rose,
Grows from concrete,
Her heart bigger than a diamond,
For she is the coolest,
Her skin the colour of the darkest night,
Her time about living her life,
Being the toughest,
And having the best time,
Because she has so much love,
For all the people of the world,
And she is a treasured girl,
For she lights up the sky,
Like a flame,
People praising her,
And her music,
Calling her name,
For she is top of the game,
Her heart bigger than the rest,
For she is simply the best,
The star of the show,
Where her talent flows,
As she dances on stage,
For she will never age,
She will always be in people's hearts,
She will always be a work of art,
For she is as precious as a jewel,
And her life flies by rapidly,
As she keeps busy,
Entertaining her people of the world,
And she wears with pride,
Diamonds and pearls,
For she is rich in mind and body,
As she is in money,
For she posesses a black beauty,
Herself so graceful and elegant,
For she is a star:
An angel sent from above,
To watch over her people with love.

Thank you! I'm really glad you both enjoyed my poem. I wrote 2 previous versions, but this is my best! I sometimes like to re-write poetry, just to explore new words and create something original. I wrote "Blue Candy" about 4 or 5 times before I got an award [from this website!]. I've actually also had "Blue Candy" published in my poetry book called "Above the Clouds" by United Press. I have written 100's of poems though and my technique is increasing every time I write a poem.
