Exotic Verse

The eastern sun rises on China,
Breaking open a new day,
All the fears and troubles over since yesterday,
Fish are caught,
Ready for the morning markets,
People pass each other,
Filling baskets,
For this is a new day of promise and hope,
For happiness is in scope,
As night falls,
People fill the city streets,
Girls are kissed,
And the air is sweet,
Sweet with the sound of people,
Walking from bar to bar,
Knowing that the night will take them far,
The clock ticks on,
The night still going strong,
As song plays after song,
And drinks are poured,
And merriness can be assured,
For this is the night,
Morning forgotten in the excitement,
Then the streets settle down,
People no longer around,
Lying in bed and waiting for the sound,
Of another day,
More hours to read an exotic verse,
As the morning sun,
Shines down once again on China.

Fab!

tho not for much longer I think.. a city the size of London is going up every month - it's getting more industrialised by the minute

Honking; cursing; screeching; shouts /
Lights always changing from red to amber to green /
Respectable suits next to typical louts /
The smoke hanging over the city makes a fine sheen.

Foxes root through the bins /
Arguments leak through locked front doors /
Bags outside those doors heaped with bottles and tins /
And the filth laps on top of the waves of the Thames' shores.

The cars keep honking and the folk still swear /
Guns in the back streets; knives in the front /
Do you dare walk the streets?  Do you?  Do you dare? /
All you'll get is a wound from a ***t.

Aaah, London, capital of our glorious country /
The second best city in the Universe /
But the girls are both slutty and sultry /
The guys are both sophisticated and terse.

Would you like to try buying a house there? /
Would you know what you were getting into? /
Lots have done this; barrenness is rare /
Whether in London or China or Japan [with it's Shintu].
