Several Angles

I look at the superstars of the day,
I know they are happy,
For my own happiness instead,
I wish, I hope, I pray.
I would love to be rich,
I would love to laugh until I got a stitch,
But I am not rich,
But I have grace,
My own, understated glamour,
But I have my faults:
I guess everybody does,
But I do try,
And happily buy all those things,
To help me feel good about myself,
Because I’d like to feel happy to be me,
I’d like to see my name,
Light up the screen:
At least in my own imagination,
But it’s amazing what the imagination can create,
What art and suffering can achieve,
I guess I’ve earnt my right to breathe,
The fresh air around me everyday,
Where I look up to the sky,
And to God I pray.
