This is what we call Democracy, a choice of representatives, that will stand on their heads and spit nickels if they have to get the promises they make, made into law. To win, they don't just shake thousands of hands and hug so many more babies, to become popular. They truly worked for the "little guy." It truly meant something to vote for the representative, that you knew, would work for you, not just sit on his hands, and allow what seems to be happening in today's government.

I remember when I was a young fella, that when an election was on the rise, those running for office, expressed that they wished to stand up for the little guy. The made promises, and they did their very best to honor them. The electorit was proud of the stance that their representative took to better the country.

It would seem, in today's world, that the heads of government, make BIG PROMISES to the public, and then do their best, to ignore the promises that they have just made. They seem to like to do their best, to appear, like they are actually accomplishing something, but in the process, the public, is getting more and more upset, as the representatives, are becoming a mockery to what we have believed democracy represents.

On the American side, George Bush, upon the 911 event taking place, stood up and told the public, that they would do everything they could, to fight off terrorism. He seems to have hinged on this to burn fear into the minds of the public, promising that he would eliminate it, and protect the American ppl from invaders of democracy. It seems when he came into office, the American Government was $20,000,000,000 in debt, but now, after accomplishing, what appears to be very little, and most on military action, has the government $43,000,000,000 in debt. It could appear to some, that it is not the government that is running their country, but the "untaxed" corporations, that are telling GB what to or not to do.

Then you have the elections that are now run by electronic voting. No more paper trail. The company that makes the electronic machines that the public now votes on can, very easily, by those in the know,  fraudulently change the vote, in such a way, that there is not a trail to follow to find the guilty source. And they wonder why ppl are less confident in voting.

Then there is the subject of their borders, the Mexican in particular, which, I understand 12,000,000 have crossed, now being employed by the corporations, at a much lower wage, than what the American public is used to. As the legal American citizens are used to getting higher wages, these corporations, are now profiting so more, not having to pay out such high wages to it's workers. They just hire illegals at half the wage or less. The American government is allowing these corporations, to close down their factories in the States and open up in foreign countries, where wages are even lower, so that their profits skyrocket, and the Republicans continue to not raise their taxes. Hmmm, does that raise the question, as to whether the USA is controlled by the government or is it controlled by the corporations finances, and those with the monies that run them?

I was listening to CNN this evening to a program hosted by Jack Cafferty, and his one hour program titled, "Broken Government."  I left a link, from his program this evening. Your comments are most welcome, about their government. Do you feel the same thing happening in your country?

Elections are supposed to be positive. Listen to the candidates beliefs, and what they will do for the ppl, and then make a decision, which one is better right?

In the American Election that will take place very shortly, the Republicans have spent $160,000,000 on negative advertising, and only $16,000,000 on postive advertising. Now, what does that tell you about who they are and what they stand for? Hmmm

I totally agree with what you're saying!
It would seem that a politician now-a-days only has to be just a little less sleazy then the person they're running against.  And pray that the other candidates research team is incompetent and can't find the dirt.
Peace!

Today is Election Day in the USA. Let us just see, what the results are of all of their bickering and negative advertising. Let us see if the Democrats take possession of the House Of Representatives, and or how the American population is feeling about so many political areas of discontent. Hmmm

Starters at the running gates. Ready, set, POP!!!  And theyr'e off.

Tonight will tell the story possibly of how the American public is feeling about the present government. Many candidates are on the edge of their seats, awaiting the final results, as it has been said, that some of the races are going to be very close.

Im sure you will hear it on your news either tonight or tomorrow. Let us just hope that the GB'ers finally find out how they are making the American public feel.

With the governmental powers now completely flip flopped in America, let us watch to see, what the Democrats do and plan to do, to make their country more likable by so many foreign populations. Let us see, what they do, to help them to get out of a country that they most certainly should not have been in the first place.

Let us see, what they do about corporations, that have relocated their manufacturing into countries, that they can get much lower wages, but still make humungous profits state side.

It is my understanding, that they wish to raise the minimum wage, so that the number of Americans, that are now, not able to make ends meet, will have a much better chance in doing so. That prescriptions for all Americans, will be much more affordable, instead of putting them into bankrupcy.

Let us all watch, while they do something about the illegal immigrants, being allowed to enter their country, and companies, that do nothing about stopping it, only because they can pay much lower wages to them, putting many legal citizens out of work.

Let us all watch, and hopefully see, a better country, with a better attitude toward those countries that border them, and those countries, that they have been taking humungous loans from, without repaying their loans. It is my feeling, that the Republicans put the USA, very close to bankrupcy with the trillions of dollars borrowed to keep the war in Iraq financed.

A very interesting read, I agree with 99% of it..

With reference to the USA government, as with most around the world, money talks..
without it, do you honestly think Ronald Reagan would ever have been Presisdent.

And what can you say about, 'I'll be back' Arnie... Say no more..

Who next, Madonna??

The British Government, and it's leader are the puppets of the US,  The newspapers state who will be voted in, and the British lemins, follow suit with their votes.. Once elected, the US take hold of the strings, and the British Government dances to the tune...

Margaret Thatcher was the best Ptime Minister this Country ever had, but she thought she was invincible, until the blade of Brutus, struck her back..

Blaire is quitting the sinking ship, he wants to get his peerage, before the proverbial  S--t hits the fan, and it will, BIG time..

We have no real friends in this world, we are tollerated by other countries, for what we have, and our position on the atlas..

I was asked some time ago to sign a petition to 'Save the British Pound'.. I refused, and when asked why, I replied,

'Why keep a monetary name, associated with this country, when we have already sold off every other British institution.'

Rolls Royce, Aston Martin, Lotus, Cosworth, Range Rover, MG, even the chicken you eat belong to Cargills of America, as does Worcestershire sause, HP  all sold off.

We assemble for other countries until they get the knowledge, then they either sell the interest, or move the factory out..

So, those who think the government of this country looks after the 'Little Guy'  are sorely disillusioned..

We are on borrowed time in this country, once the stock exchange goes, our trading power will, and so will we... Just like the BT operator, off to India... what a turn-around..

McPhib..
