Yesterday, for a short while, we were at par with the American Greenback, but today, without a doubt, our Loonie (Dollar) is at par. So many Canadians are now, doing their shopping below the Border, saving big bucks on many products. On the news yesterday, there was an interview with the Manager of a Shopping Mall. He expressed, that normally this time of year is slow, with the School shopping being completed. He was saying that now, about 85% of the shoppers there are Canadians.

It used to cost many of us a great deal of money to take vacations in the States, or purchase needed product down there. Now they are no longer in charge of the World's Dollar. There are so many more purchasing our Loonie, driving up it's price. Our economy, being so much stronger than the States, is drawing so many more investors in our direction.

One of the causes of our Loonie rising so quickly is, the American Dollar falling so much internationally. As well, so many foreclosures on Americans that are up to their necks in debt, making it even more difficult to make payments on their mortgages. It has been expressed, by the former head of the American Treasury Allan Greenspan, that in the new year, unless the lending institutions make big changes, their will be many disasterous financial stories to come. He also has expressed, that "we need this time to even out our economy."

Yes, there are also some drawbacks, with Canadian Manufacturers, being hit with a surging Canadian Dollar, but I'm sure in the not too distant future, prices will, and have to, even out, or they will lose big bucks, to those "across the border" shoppers.
Have a look at the links I have provided.  In the meantime, there are millions of smiles frmear2ear in Canada.
