Snakes are a collection of condradictions.  They are wise and naive, they are prudent and prudish, they are profligate and possessive.  They seem quiet and passive, but are coiled for sudden strikes.  The seemingly placid nature of the snake, lying in wait, suggest patience and an ability to choose the right moment to act, particularly if they can control events from afar.  They can also endure long periods of apparent inactivity, but the time is not wasted.  They are planning their next strike.  Intellectualising is a trait of most snakes.  They gather information and intelligence from every possible source, accumulating it for the right moment.  The constant use of the brain can sometimes lead to mild instability and unbalanced judgements.  Snakes do not like to go far from home and need companionship.
