I'm sorry about your mom, I know this is a very difficult time for you especially with the the amount of energy new babies take.
My mother had similar circumstances. She was also on oxygen due to emphezema and she has PAD.
It is when she had repeated small heart attacks they discovered her cancer and was in the hospital and very weak. They didn't even consult her or us with what their plans for treatment were. I was furious when I found out that they ordered morphine and nothing else. I saw what happened to 90 lb Alma when they gave her a cocktail big enough for a horse- she went into a drugged fog and then a coma- it speeds up the death process. This is ok if that is hat you want- but it should be a choice.
I had to talk to mom and tell her what was happening and if she wanted to have the cancer treatment. They told her it was dangerous in her condition, but mom said go ahead. I don't think she understood it all. They gave it to her and yup- she went into a coma and then died a week later. They didn't tell us she could go into a coma.
The only reason I'm writing this is because I believe INFORMED choices are so important for individuals . ASK ASK ASK ! Your mom might live for years with her cancer- or a miracle might happen. She might change her mind when she feels stronger.
