Misszell, if you have a problem, you should know enough to take it to the Free Swim.

The managers are working on the fact that we may have been misled here.

So, kindly move this thread. I'll give you ten minutes.

Wow.  This thread made my chest tight.

I have so many thoughts going on at once, I don't really know how to say them.  So, I'll do what I always do in that case. I'll ramble.

First of all, it really hasn't been that long ago that we had what was, on the surface, a "harmless" person at the Loft who lied about her entire past.  At first she was just a shit disturber.  She started drama daily.  Well, seeing as so many people enjoy drama, I guess she contributed to the Loft in her own fashion.  But then, once everyone really had a good hate on for her, she turned the tables and started telling everyone all about her horrible past (as an excuse for her pissy behavior).

Over a few months time, she had most people feeling so sorry for all the terrible things she had endured in her young life.  Then, low and behold, she committed suicide.  My God, did the Loft mourn!  Especially the people who had never made up with her.  So much guilt and sorrow.  Then a few of the people who were already a little on the edge as it was started really considering suicide the answer.  Then when it came out that it was all a lie, the Loft got to mourn all over again.  They were mourning that the person they knew had not only not died, but she had never existed.

So, yes, she was "harmless".  She never stole anyone's identity, she never physically attacked anyone, and she never stole someone's SS#.  But there was a lot of needless pain and sorrow caused that never should have been.  Things like this happen in chat rooms and blogs all too frequently.

There were a few people that knew she was lying for most of that time.  But, they didn't have the proof.  It took months to get the proof, or at least enough "circumstantial evidence" about different parts to damn the entire story for a lie.  Had anyone that knew the real truth jumped up from early on and said "Hey, wait, I know this person is lying.  I just do, because of this one flimsy thing that I saw!" the Loft would have lost its collective minds.  So, those that knew, waited.  Which later, caused a lot of hurt and pain anyway.

Lizzie is 18 or 19.  Not to mention, she's been in some sort of a long relationship with this young man.    I think when something like this happens, we need to step back and take into consideration all of the pieces of the puzzle.  I don't advocate making excuses for young people when they fuck up, not at all.  But I do advocate those of us that have a few extra years under our belt ANTICIPATING the fuck-ups to come, and making damn sure that a situation is exactly as it may seem to them.  I mean, we can all remember back when a pimple on prom night was literally the end of our world.  We can all remember how the sun rose and set on our ass.  A high level of hormones mixed with a low level of life experience is a pretty heady mixture.

What I'm trying to say here is that from what I have seen, do any of us really know what Alex (Kiezo, whatever) did or did not do?  Not really.  Could Lizzie have helped her cause by calmly approaching the managers over e-mail and presenting her case as to exactly why Alex is a bad person to have around.  Of course.  Could she have even (maybe) exaggerated her claims because her young heart was broken?  Possibly.  Does that mean she's is now Satan incarnate?  Not to me.  Maybe he was exactly the kind of person as the heretofore mentioned asshole who got her kicks fooling about 100 people thinking she had killed herself.  We'll never know, but I do know that the Loft has never been the same since then.  A lot of people lost faith in the on-line world and drifted away.  I never left completely, but I have never felt the same.  So, just maybe Lizzie saved us from something.  Maybe she did us a favor Maybe not.  I do believe that people should have the right to speak in their own defense, but I also feel 1,000 times more loyal to the people who have been around for awhile than the people we don't know at all.  So, I guess I'm really conflicted.  But, just as we probably shouldn't convict Alex sight unseen, I also feel weird about how hard Lizzie got it in here.

I was one of the people that knew some of the truth about the lies referenced in the other situation above, and I think I was 32 at the time.  All of us that were involved were well into adulthood.  We all knew that for such a heavy accusation we had to cross every T and dot every I.  Lizzie is young, and obviously thought that screaming fire in a theater is fine just because a blaze had sparked in her personal life.  But if this kid really did take on the persona of someone else she had known, that spells out a problem to me.

Anyway, I am totally fucking rambling and I haven't even begun to really drink yet.  Last thing I want to say about it is that yes, none of us really know all of our personal details.  It is true, my real name is not Mayfaire.  I'm sure you're all surprised to know it is Jennifer. Good luck tracking me down on that alone, as there must be 50,000,000 Jennifers out there for god's sake.    But that being said, I still prefer coming here and elsewhere knowing that people are above board and trust worthy.  A silly dream to have in the on-line world, but I have it nonetheless.

And, I'm not checking this fucking novel over for typos, just deal.

That is exactly what some of us were doing in this thread.

This must have been quite the hot thread for the last few days.......oh my

I'm sure everybody has read it. This is not a surprise to me.  There has been so much distrust on these boards, too live in fear... seems to always brew paranoia.

The reason for such offensive seems justified, however, the behavior is suspect. Is it the scorn of a love interest, which has been done to death, or the sincere warning of a possible danger, which at that point really didn't matter, as he would clearly have quite a little file o information, so to wait a day to clear it up would have seem prudent. You really do need to post at your own risk, it's the Internet folks.

Lizzie now has grown from a teen girl to a late teen girl on her way to young lady, and then on to a Lady, which is why there is concern.  I always felt a little uncomfortable with Lizzie's relationship, I guess cause I just felt she was too young for something like that, but then again I care for her, well like an Uncle or something, or better yet, queer uncle Jella......lol  I've watched these kids grow just as long as ya'll, it's been a treat to see them as they progress.. If it was calculated then that is not very becoming, and with the bonds that are formed in a group of friends you take their word for it, so most really don't give a shite, as I don't because I'm sure the dude doesn't. Had it been someone whom had interacted, things may have been handled a bit different. Chalk it up to a learned lesson and move on. That however, is not what made this thread hot.

Trusting, proving, documenting, and talking trash.  Now I know I've been burned for trusting, but I also don't like a person that could be so vindictive that they would deliberately disparage someone, it become a notch on a persons character, and it seems those notches due add up to an end of respect. We seem to give up a lot of those along the way to becoming a person. It's a bump in the road, or hiccup, but I guess that's what it takes. Users are in abundance, and they don't all have nuts. It's a discredit to a young person to condone that sort of behavior if you really do care about them. So do you trust, and not question, or seek the real truth. I've watched so many friends in the past do that, but you look away because their your friend. I've always found a way of making my point, an it usually came when they were bitchin about how much they were burned to me. I can only take so much.  These are the sort of trust issues that due to not only our experiences with the boards and folks, but the people we've know in our everyday lives.

As friends we expect nothing but full allegence....... SA:LIUTE.

Unconditional love god dam it! Tell me that I'm not the bestest singer on AI.. They just don't know goooood talent!

Move on... we know whom the biatches are on these boards, those with nuts included, and we all know because we say so. We need this now and then apparently to point these things out.

I thought the witch picture was......

EPIC
