Did any of you get a car seat inspection before baby arrived? Nick and I were planning on getting it inspected, but the hospital only does it Tuesday mornings from 9-10:30 and then once a month at Babies R Us. Nick takes the car to work though, so I can't take it to one of those. Is it super important to have it inspected? I've put in quite a few car seat bases before, although the one we have is a bit more advance than I've ever used. We have the new Graco Safeseat. Do you think I would be fine just reading the manual?

I've been having regular contractions today, about 13 minutes apart. It's a full moon today too. I don't think I'll have him today, but I'm thinking in the next week or so.

You should be fine.  Just make sure its snug and doesn't slide.

Kristen, about 85% of child safety seats are improperly installed. Don't they have any car seat clinics on Saturday there?

If you decide to go without, be sure to follow the instructions, and be sure you really pull and push on the seat to be sure it doesn't move too much.

I have had mine checked if its in there good and tight and doesn't move its good, some of them have the level thingy so you can see you have it at the right angle.  But you should be fine if its tight and doesn't slide

Ack! I haven't been able to find any on Saturdays. I wonder if I can install it now, and then when he arrives have someone at the hospital check it before we leave? I do have one of those level things on the side..

Call you city hall to see if they have any information on other inspections.  Here in Lombard, the fire department does it several times a week.

Thanks Chicky.. I will do that tomorrow.

I had contractions all night.. they got to be about 4-5 minutes apart, so I called Labor and Delivery. They wanted me to wait until they were 3-4 minutes a part and then come in. Of course they ended up tapering off. I had them ALL day and nothing lol.

did they tell you to drink a glass of cold water and lay down? that's what they always told me to do when contractions started up.

Just stop by a fire station or police station and they will check it for you.

LOL No holding him in for me... when he is ready, he is coming out!

Avs they told me last time to do that, so when they started up I drank about 7 bottles of water and just rested lol. Had to pee like every five minutes! When I called they just said do whatever you want to be comfortable. They won't stop labor anymore woohoo!

I think I am calm.. I am excited, but I know I can do this, and just seeing my little guy.. ahh I can't wait.

As for drugs, I am going to do it as long as I can without it, but when it becomes unbearable I am getting them. I don't want to be a super bitch and I would rather somewhat enjoy the birth of my child lol.
