Hickory Apple Smoked Chicken

Your skillful hand at work over your trusty grill will produce succulent grilled chicken; now all you need is a sauce worthy of your efforts.  This uniquely seasoned sauce, featuring smoky bacon and apple juice will have your family and friends seeing you as the grilling master you always knew you were!

Recipe Information
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 30 minutes

Makes 6 servings

Apple Chicken

Ingredients
1 bottle McCormick® Grill Mates® Hickory BBQ Grilling Sauce
1/3 cup apple juice
6 slices bacon, crisply cooked and crumbled (about 1/4 cup)
3 pounds bone-in chicken parts
vegetable oil

Directions
1.  Mix grilling sauce, juice, and bacon.  Reserve 1/2 cup sauce mixture for dipping at the table.

2.  Lightly brush chicken with oil and grill over medium heat with lid closed.  Turn chicken occasionally, until internal temperature of breast reaches 170°F and thigh is 180°F (about 30 minutes).  During last 5 minutes of grilling, brush chicken with remaining hickory sauce mixture.

3.  Serve chicken with reserved sauce mixture.

TIP:  Sauce is also great on boneless chicken breasts!
