ok, now I NEED to vent, as you know, Kaden has been home since Monday, we have 4 hours of Respite per day and 8 hours Home Care overnite so that I/We can sleep etc ... So, last nite we get a brand new nurse and I swear I wanted to kill this woman ... she shows up at 11:00 pm, I show her where everything is and ask if she has any questions, nope she says, she's fine ... GREAT, FANTASTIC ....... NOT. This nurse decides to literally sit beside his crib all nite.
Now to paint a picture for you, Kaden is in my livingroom. I am in a 1 bedroom apartment, with that room being the biggest and the one we spend most time in it just made sense to have him out here. To explain a little Kaden requires 3-4 meds per 24 hours, including ventolin treaments as well as heart medications etc ... he also has a machine called a Bi-Pap, which is positive air pressure support. Meaning that Kaden does not have to work as hard to breath during the nite, reserving his energy for the daytime so he can work his muscles better etc ... Well for christs sake, this woman is an LPN and she cannot even turn the damned thing on ...
Other than that bullshit, she was on him everytime he moved, if any of you have ever watched a baby sleep they practice fine motor skills in thier sleep, ALL THE TIME ... a nurse should know this but no she has to get on him, move him, wiggle him around, shove catheters down his throat when he doesn't even need suctioning ie: Kaden cannot swallow very well due to his muscle weakness ...
So now it's 3:00 in the fucking morning and he is wide awake cause she will not let him be ... he's up till 4:00 am crying and she is friggin sitting there just looking at him. Oh. let us not forget to mention that she's talking VERY loudly to him and making it even harder to settle him down. I asked her at least 15 times to leave me alone with my son so that I could get him back to sleep and sure as shit, she came over everytime I asked her to stand back...
We asked her I don't know how many times to just pat his butt and give him a soother and she nods then goes back to being a moron again ... So I've now had 4 hours sleep in about 30 hours, Krank literally stayed up ALL nite then had to go to work this morning ... I am not impressed one little bit ... This is a mother of three and she cannot even have the common sense to TRY and calm him down ........ ARGGGGHHH !!!
The point of having these people here is to relieve some of our stress not make it bloody worse for us and for Kaden for that matter. She is booked for another shift tonight and I have to say, if this shit keeps up I will ask her to leave my home and I'll stay up all nite myself with him ... least that way he gets what he needs ... sometimes I just want to give the human race one good swift kick in the ass ...
