How often do you rotate toys in your birds cages? I just did a massive clean not to long ago and put in some stuff I bought at a recent bird show. I don't think I rotate them as often as I should though. Nan

Ifeel the same way - maybe I don't rotate as often as I should....but they don't seem to get tired of their toys that quickly.  Soooo, I take them out when they are either destroyed, or I see that they haven't been playing with them much.  They seem to be okay with that.

Rotate toys?  In Ms Morgan's case, the only thing left to rotate is the quick link when she's done .  I should probably rotate my guys' toys more often, but as long as I see them playing with them I'll leave them in.  In Shannon's case, it's usually when I see he's spending more time feeding his toy than feeding himself .

I wished Mikie liked toys. I have tried different things & he just doesn't do anything with him. There has one things that he did like many years ago. It was a piece of wood that had a slate in it with nuts inside. He shreaded that thing to get those nuts out in one day. Just like that commerial " Hey Mikie he likes it" Life cearal wasn't it?
Do you think if I hide food in different toys he may go for it & have fun???????
Or maybe just soak them in some fruit juice first lol

I rotate new toys in and quick links out everyday in about half the cages and the others have hissy fits if I even ACT like I'm moving a toy till it's "finished". My birds didn't read that book about toy rotation.

Keeps me constantly working on new toy ideas.

I rotate out half the toys in each cage every Sunday when I schlepp the cages outside to scrub them.  Tiger Lily turns every square block into a round block and then loses interest.  But Sammy likes to destroy the round blocks  that T. Lily is finished with.  (Kinda like "hand-me-downs" when my kids were growing up...lol)  Smee has to always have a long, hanging thing with at least one bell on it.  Rainbow likes one GIGANTIC toy and a couple of easily "altered" smaller toys.  If a toy stays in their cage too long without becoming unrecognizable then I figure it's not "interesting" enough so I replace it.  Gotta keep those fids occupied.
