No this is not my first cockatoo. In October I rescued Tara a little Goffin Cockatoo who was neglected and physically abused when we went to see her the woman hit Tara twice with the back of her hand while we were there..........Gezzz I can't understand why she is so phobic of hands and everything else....
How do I like Tukki???? well I had Tukki in my home before and it didn't last only a few days and we took her back to her owner not knowing that we shouldn't get her all worked with all of us there with her....She attacked my husband and brought the blood out of him then she turned on my daughter lunged at my son and bite the dog......lol.It was our fault for not knowing any better.
This time around it is going so much better we only interact with her on a 1 on 1 basis and don't get her all worked up we are keeping everything nice and calm until she settles in and has had time to grieve the loss of her old family.
Don't get me wrong there are times when she is displaying,at that moment I know she is happy she is accepting pets and scratches and little kisses on the top of her head...this morning my daughter Tukki's favorite person was done getting ready for school a little bit early she had on a black t-shirt and a black jacket Kelcy sat on the chair and tukki came over being sneaky and was looking at the silver buttons on the jacket the next thing we knew she was on Kelcy's lap under her jacket snuggling .....lol
Kelcy went to school with a grey jacket
..
I fell in love instantly with Tukki the first time I had her it broke my heart to take her back and the lady knew that so when she called me and said I have to find Tukki a home and would you be interested?I wanted to scream YES YES YES but I told her I had to talk it over with my husband and I would get back to her....I called her the next day and said sure I would love to take her and I am still in love with this little girl
