I just came on to check the boards, and I saw the following in the October Whistle. Annie, I sure understand why you are scared spitless, as I am on your behalf! I'm praying for a good outcome for you. As DD says, you are in God's hands.
Love, Leslie
From: MSN Nicknameannieokie100 Sent: 17/10/2008 7:18 PM I got the bad news I expected today. I have to have mitral valve repair, and fast. He said the blood leaves my heart but the valve doesn't close and the blood drops back into the heart instead of feeding my lungs. The repair is not as bad as bypass but still is dangerous with my coronary artery disease. Then he really dropped the bomb. This surgery may buy me a little time but I need the bypass and this valve surgery. The surgeon is being consulted and we will know something in a few days. He laid it out that I am going downhill so fast that I may only have few weeks left without one surgery or both. We all, me, hubby and the doc think that the risk may be my best chance. I have no chance without the surgery. My aorta is so damaged that it can break apart when clamped and is the reason the surgery was not done in Feb when I went up for it. But now I have little choice. Some of you may understand the diagnoses of pulmonary hypertension, mitral valve insuffenciency and CHF. I hate putting this on the board but it's easier on me than writing to so many different people. Please pray for a good outcome for me. Annie (who is scared spitless) |

Annie, I am so pleased that you are sleeping better and feeling a bit better. See what prayer does? I'll just keep on praying until you are all fixed up, no matter how it happens ... through prayer or through surgery. Love, Leslie |

What great news to come read! I'm so glad you are finally getting that rest you sooooooo need. I hope you're having some wonderful dreams during those hours of sleep. I for one am humbled to actually witness the result of a group of loving people who have come together in prayer for one who's in need....and you are definately deserving the healing properties of prayer. I will continue to pray and burn up the candles. I've gone through a few for you and another dear friend. You just keep up the good work and heal. If'n you get real better...I'll need you to come down with your shotgun to take care of a gang of varmity gophers. Darn near break a leg every time I walk around outside! oh......yes Mamma....I burn them out in our new covered deck where they are out of the weather and out of the house. |

Your attitude is remarkable, and you know already how much you are loved by one and all. My best wishes for you!!! Keep that glass half full! Love, Logan |

I'm still praying for you too, Abeau, and will be until you are back in top form. I've heard that those rotator cuff surgeries take a while to recuperate from, so you just take it easy!!! Abby |

Abby, are they telling you to ice after you do your excersizes? It's been 8 years since my back surgury, and I still occasionally get the cold pack out after doing my stretches... I was in physical therapy for a year after... Annie... don't make me come there and plant you in a chair or on the sofa! You have worked hard at helping others all of your life.... now let them help you! We love you way to much to risk you, and if I can bully this big guy of mine around, do you think that a little thing like you would be a challange? Keeping everyone in my prayers!!! |

Abeau, I really have been worried about you. Now this!! Is the frozen shoulder is caused by immobilization? I wondered if that happened to some. Do they think after the cast is off that physical therapy will release it? I think of you daily. In my prayers. Annie |
