I have breeding finches again! The first 3 eggs hatched today. I know this is stupid since I have done this before but what greens should I supply Mom and Dad with? And also... this time I have other birds (4) in a large cage with them. It was so sweet seeing all of them pitch in to build the nest. Some of them even sat on the eggs while Mom and Dad ate or drank. Is this normal? Will the other birds pick on the babies once they leave the nest? Should I put them in a different cage? I have 2 "Just in case and Hospital" cages if I should ever need them. Thanks a ton!!! ~~Taylor~~

Just about any green they'll eat. Broccoli, spinich, kale, turnip, mustard, any lettuce except iceburg, etc... The Zebra and Society finches I used to have loved alfalfa sprouts too.
AS for seperating them, I'd just watch them. If the others seem to be butting in too much of upsetting the parents, seperate them. If all seem ok, leave them. Mine were usually helpful to eachother and got along well. But I did have one "bully" male Zebra finch for a while that I had to keep seperate.

I agree with Momnoah but it also depends on what you think you most need for them in the way of vitamins and minerals. Collard greens and kale are good sources of calcium, and grated carrots are terrific in beta carotene which their bodies will convert to Vitamin A. They need to be getting eggfood, too, for good healthy baby rearing. You can microwave the egg shells for two minutes, cool 'em down and crush them for super calcium, too. My finches gobbled those down.
I can't remember a single healthy food that my Gouldians wouldn't eat, unlike my picky parrots.
