These are an endangered species in Australia. We have just purchased 2 pairs. They are most beautiful, the males being very vived with yellow and splash of red ,the turquoise is stunning
this is the male

The female is duller, but has a very bright yellow under belly.
Any tips on them would be appreciated, they have settled in well, but cant find much info on them. .
Would like to ;earn more of their likes and dislikes.
Thanks

Lov Jen

They're also called Grass Parakeets, you'll find lots of info if you type that into your search.  Or Australian Grass Parakeets.  Beautiful birds...congratulations!

I agree with Feathers, those are awsome little guys.  I've never seen any in person, but there are a few breeders out west who advertise them--almost twice what I paid for my splendids.  Sounds like the males can get cranky at breeding time...you'll have your hands full with those guys.  Keep us posted on your experiences with them---I can't wait to hear that you've got babies!  (I'm patient, I can wait )
