Jesus, teaching from the Written Scriptures

Here is John the Baptist, quoting from the Prophet Isaiah:

Mt 3:1 In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea, Mt 3:2 And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. Mt 3:3 For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Esaias, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.

Isa 40:3 The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our God. Isa 40:4 Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low: and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places plain:

Here is Jesus quoting OT Prophecy:

Mt 4:3 And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread. Mt 4:4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. (He quoted this): De 8:3 And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the LORD doth man live.

Mt 4:5 Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple, Mt 4:6 And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone. (Here Satan quoted from Psalms, to try to trick Jesus, knowing that Jesus knew and believed the Written Word.) Mt 4:7 Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God. (Here Jesus quoted this: P.s. Don’t tell me He had not studied the Written Scriptures. He had to know them very well to know these things.) De 6:16 Ye shall not tempt the LORD your God, as ye tempted him in Massah.

Mt 4:8 Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and showeth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; 4:9 And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me. Mt 4:10 Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. (Here Jesus quoted one of the Ten Commandments.)

Mt 4:13 And leaving Nazareth, he came and dwelt in Capernaum, which is upon the sea coast, in the borders of Zabulon and Nephthalim: Mt 4:14 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Mt 4:15 The land of Zabulon, and the land of Nephthalim, by the way of the sea, beyond Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles; Mt 4:16 The people which sat in darkness saw great light; and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death light is sprung up.

(Here Jesus quotes this: Isa 9:1 Nevertheless the dimness shall not be such as was in her vexation, when at the first he lightly afflicted the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, and afterward did more grievously afflict her by the way of the sea, beyond Jordan, in Galilee of the nations. Isa 9:2 The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined. P.s. He had to know those Scriptures VERY WELL.)

Mt 8:16 When the even was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with his word, and healed all that were sick: Mt 8:17 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses. (Here Jesus quotes this: Isa 53:4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. Isa 53:5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.)

Mt 12:15 But when Jesus knew it, he withdrew himself from thence: and great multitudes followed him, and he healed them all; Mt 12:16 And charged them that they should not make him known: Mt 12:17 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying,

Mt 12:18 Behold my servant, whom I have chosen; my beloved, in whom my soul is well pleased: I will put my spirit upon him, and he shall show judgment to the Gentiles. Mt 12:19 He shall not strive, nor cry; neither shall any man hear his voice in the streets. Mt 12:20 A bruised reed shall he not break, and smoking flax shall he not quench, till he send forth judgment unto victory. Mt 12:21 And in his name shall the Gentiles trust.

(Here Jesus is quoting this: Isa 42:1 Behold my servant, whom I uphold; mine elect, in whom my soul delighteth; I have put my spirit upon him: he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles. Isa 42:2 He shall not cry, nor lift up, nor cause his voice to be heard in the street. Isa 42:3 A bruised reed shall he not break, and the smoking flax shall he not quench: he shall bring forth judgment unto truth. Isa 42:4 He shall not fail nor be discouraged, till he have set judgment in the earth: and the isles shall wait for his law. Isa 42:5 Thus saith God the LORD, he that created the heavens, and stretched them out; he that spread forth the earth, and that which cometh out of it; he that giveth breath unto the people upon it, and spirit to them that walk therein: Isa 42:6 I the LORD have called thee in righteousness, and will hold thine hand, and will keep thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, for a light of the Gentiles; Isa 42:7 To open the blind eyes, to bring out the prisoners from the prison, and them that sit in darkness out of the prison house)

Mt 13:34 All these things spake Jesus unto the multitude in parables; and without a parable spake he not unto them: Mt 13:35 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying, I will open my mouth in parables; I will utter things which have been kept secret from the foundation of the world.

Ps 78:2 I will open my mouth in a parable: I will utter dark sayings of old:

Mt 21:1 And when they drew nigh unto Jerusalem, and were come to Bethphage, unto the mount of Olives, then sent Jesus two disciples, Mt 21:2 Saying unto them, Go into the village over against you, and straightway ye shall find an ass tied, and a colt with her: loose them, and bring them unto me. Mt 21:3 And if any man say ought unto you, ye shall say, The Lord hath need of them; and straightway he will send them.

Mt 21:4 All this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying, Mt 21:5 Tell ye the daughter of Sion, Behold, thy King cometh unto thee, meek, and sitting upon an ass, and a colt the foal of an ass.

Zec 9:9 Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass.

Mt 24:15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) Mt 24:16 Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:

Mt 26:55 In that same hour said Jesus to the multitudes, Are ye come out as against a thief with swords and staves for to take me? I sat daily with you teaching in the temple, and ye laid no hold on me. Mt 26:56 But all this was done, that the scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled. Then all the disciples forsook him, and fled.

Here he again referred to the Scripture in Psa. 38.

Mt 27:34 They gave him vinegar to drink mingled with gall: and when he had tasted thereof, he would not drink. Mt 27:35 And they crucified him, and parted his garments, casting lots: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, They parted my garments among them, and upon my vesture did they cast lots. (Psa. 22)

Mr 1:1 The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God; Mark 1:2 As it is written in the prophets, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee. Mr 1:3 The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight. Mr 1:4 John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins. (Isa. 40

Above, In Mark 1, Jesus quoted from the very same passage in Isaiah which John quoted from.)

Lu 4:16 And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read. Lu 4:17 And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written, Lu 4:18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, Lu 4:19 To preach the acceptable year of the Lord. Lu 4:20 And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him. Lu 4:21 And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.

Isa 61:1 The spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; Isa 61:2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;

Lu 11:29 And when the people were gathered thick together, he began to say, This is an evil generation: they seek a sign; and there shall no sign be given it, but the sign of Jonas the prophet. Lu 11:30 For as Jonas was a sign unto the Ninevites, so shall also the Son of man be to this generation. Lu 11:31 The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with the men of this generation, and condemn them: for she came from the utmost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon is here. Lu 11:32 The men of Nineve shall rise up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: for they repented at the preaching of Jonas; and, behold, a greater than Jonas is here.

The above proves that Jesus had studied the Book of Johah.

Lu 18:31 Then he took unto him the twelve, and said unto them, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem, and all things that are written by the prophets concerning the Son of man shall be accomplished.

Mt 1:21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins. Mt 1:22 Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Mt 1:23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us. (Isa 7:14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.)

The above verses prove that everything about Jesus?life, from his birth till his death, was already written in Scripture, and that Jesus himself had studied those very Scriptures, and every move he was making was fulfilling those Scriptures. He lived his life by what the Word of God had already said about him!

Lu 24:24 And certain of them which were with us went to the sepulchre, and found it even so as the women had said: but him they saw not. Lu 24:25 Then he said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken: Lu 24:26 Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory? Lu 24:27 And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.

Above Jesus calls people fools and slow of heart not to believe all that the prophets spoke! Then He began teaching them about himself, from the Books of Moses and all the prophets. So Jesus was teaching from the Written Scriptures. He most certainly had studied them and learned them, in order to do this.

Lu 24:44 And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me. Lu 24:45 Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures, Lu 24:46 And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day:

This is Jesus speaking after his resurrection. He said, while I was yet with you, I told you that all things must be fulfilled, which were WRITTEN in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the Psalsms, concerning me.

Then He opened their understanding…?to what? That they might understand the SCRIPTURES.

Joh 1:45 Philip findeth Nathanael, and saith unto him, We have found him, of whom Moses in the law, and the prophets, did write, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.

See here that these men knew what was WRITTEN. So they had been studying the Written Scriptures, and following them, so they knew about Jesus because they had READ THE WORD.

John 6:43 Jesus therefore answered and said unto them, Murmur not among yourselves. John 6:44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.

John 6:45 It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me.

Here again, Jesus is teaching the people and speaking the written words of the prophets!

John 12:37 But though he had done so many miracles before them, yet they believed not on him: 12:38 That the saying of Esaias the prophet might be fulfilled, which he spake, Lord, who hath believed our report? and to whom hath the arm of the Lord been revealed? (Isa 53:1 Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed?

)

John 12:39 Therefore they could not believe, because that Esaias said again, 12:40 He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them. 12:41 These things said Esaias, when he saw his glory, and spake of him.

The above is Jesus again quoting from the Book of Isaiah. And there are many more places where Jesus quoted the OT Written Scriptures, where it does not even point it out. But I am not going to place that into this message. Maybe later, I will come back and do some of that. But for now, study this and see that Jesus did indeed study and preach from the Written Scriptures.

Ps 17:15 As for me, I will behold thy face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with thy likeness.

Who said the above? Whose words are they? What does this mean?

Any idea?

what does AWAKE mean?

It is Jesus speaking of his resurrection, when he would awake into the likeness and glory of his Father.

(I love this message.)

Ps 27:8 When thou saidst, Seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee, Thy face, LORD, will I seek.

Who spoke those beautiful words? It was Jesus, of course. I dearly love these words of our Lord. He was talking with his Father here. His words are not printed in red, but it is his words just the same.

Ps 2:7 I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee. Ps 2:8 Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession. Ps 2:9 Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel.

Who spoke those words? Jesus of course. Yet they are not in red. It is verified in Revelation. Re 2:26 And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations: Re 2:27 And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father.

Ps 40:2 He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings. Ps 40:3 And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD.

This is also Jesus speaking. What is he speaking about? Follow this: Verse 2.. Speaks of two things; when Jesus came up out of the grave and most importantly, when he was delivered from this ‘first-man, Adam mortal flesh?

The new song? His resurrection and message of resurrection and deliverance = New life. V.3.

Ps 40:4 Blessed is that man that maketh the LORD his trust, and respecteth not the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies. Ps 40:5 Many, O LORD my God, are thy wonderful works which thou hast done, and thy thoughts which are to us-ward: they cannot be reckoned up in order unto thee: if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered.

Ps 40:6 Sacrifice and offering thou didst not desire; mine ears hast thou opened: burnt offering and sin offering hast thou not required.

Ps 40:7 Then said I, Lo, I come: in the volume of the book it is written of me,

Ps 40:8 I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart.

Ps 40:9 I have preached righteousness in the great congregation: lo, I have not refrained my lips, O LORD, thou knowest.

The above is certainly spoken by Jesus in the Book of Hebrews.

Heb 10:5 Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me:

Heb 10:6 In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hast had no pleasure.

Heb 10:7 Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God.

Heb 10:8 Above when he said, Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein; which are offered by the law;

Heb 10:9 Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second. Heb 10:10 By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

Ps 40:10 I have not hid thy righteousness within my heart; I have declared thy faithfulness and thy salvation: I have not concealed thy lovingkindness and thy truth from the great congregation. Ps 40:11 Withhold not thou thy tender mercies from me, O LORD: let thy lovingkindness and thy truth continually preserve me. Ps 40:12 For innumerable evils have compassed me about: mine iniquities have taken hold upon me, so that I am not able to look up; they are more than the hairs of mine head: therefore my heart faileth me.

The above is speaking of when the sins of the world were placed upon Jesus and his enemies were doing their evil at Calvary.

Ps 40:13 Be pleased, O LORD, to deliver me: O LORD, make haste to help me.

Ps 40:14 Let them be ashamed and confounded together that seek after my soul to destroy it; let them be driven backward and put to shame that wish me evil. Ps 40:15 Let them be desolate for a reward of their shame that say unto me, Aha, aha.

These are just a tiny bit of the many words of Jesus in the OT Scriptures. Those words in Hebrews are the very words of Jesus, even though they are not printed in red. So red is not the only means of identifying the very Words of Jesus. He has many more words in Scripture than the ones men put into red. If you do not realize this, you are missing the glory. So when you discredit any part of Scripture, you are speaking against Jesus and God. It is all their words, even when they may quote others, even Satan. It is still God speaking to us.

Ps 35:9 And my soul shall be joyful in the LORD: it shall rejoice in his salvation.

Ps 35:10 All my bones shall say, LORD, who is like unto thee, which deliverest the poor from him that is too strong for him, yea, the poor and the needy from him that spoileth him?

Ps 35:11 False witnesses did rise up; they laid to my charge things that I knew not.

Ps 35:12 They rewarded me evil for good to the spoiling of my soul.

Ps 35:13 But as for me, when they were sick, my clothing was sackcloth: I humbled my soul with fasting; and my prayer returned into mine own bosom.

Ps 35:14 I behaved myself as though he had been my friend or brother: I bowed down heavily, as one that mourneth for his mother.

Ps 35:15 But in mine adversity they rejoiced, and gathered themselves together: yea, the abjects gathered themselves together against me, and I knew it not; they did tear me, and ceased not:

Ps 35:16 With hypocritical mockers in feasts, they gnashed upon me with their teeth.

Ps 35:17 Lord, how long wilt thou look on? rescue my soul from their destructions, my darling from the lions.

Ps 35:18 I will give thee thanks in the great congregation: I will praise thee among much people.

Ps 35:19 Let not them that are mine enemies wrongfully rejoice over me: neither let them wink with the eye that hate me without a cause.

Ps 35:20 For they speak not peace: but they devise deceitful matters against them that are quiet in the land.

Ps 35:21 Yea, they opened their mouth wide against me, and said, Aha, aha, our eye hath seen it.

All of the above Scripture is the very words of Jesus Christ. False witnesses arose against him.

They rewarded him evil for his good. But when they were sick, he fasted and prayed for them and healed them.

Verse 15 is speaking of when they all gathered together against him. Anyone who does not know how to recognize the words of Jesus and those about Jesus in the OT, are missing too much knowledge about the true Jesus. This is how you learn the real glory.

Ps 45:1 To the chief Musician upon Shoshannim, for the sons of Korah, Maschil, A Song of loves. My heart is inditing a good matter: I speak of the things which I have made touching the king: my tongue is the pen of a ready writer.

Ps 45:2 Thou art fairer than the children of men: grace is poured into thy lips: therefore God hath blessed thee for ever.

Ps 45:3 Gird thy sword upon thy thigh, O most mighty, with thy glory and thy majesty.

Ps 45:4 And in thy majesty ride prosperously because of truth and meekness and righteousness; and thy right hand shall teach thee terrible things.

Ps 45:5 Thine arrows are sharp in the heart of the king's enemies; whereby the people fall under thee.

Ps 45:6 Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: the sceptre of thy kingdom is a right sceptre.

Ps 45:7 Thou lovest righteousness, and hatest wickedness: therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.

Verse one: His tongue (speaking in tongues to us) is the pen of a ready writer. This is how he is writing his word or law into our hearts. That is what this is speaking of.

Verse two is a heavenly being speaking to Jesus Christ. Grace was poured into his lips. God has blessed him for ever.

All the other verses are God speaking to Jesus.

Heb 1:8 But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.

Heb 1:9 Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.

See, this in Hebrews one is the very same words, proving that in Ps 45 is about and to Jesus Christ. MY, my, such glory.

Ps 109:1#

To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. Hold not thy peace, O God of my praise;

Ps 109:2#

For the mouth of the wicked and the mouth of the deceitful are opened against me: they have spoken against me with a lying tongue. (This is the words of Jesus speaking about Judas, the betrayer.)

Ps 109:3#

They compassed me about also with words of hatred; and fought against me without a cause.

Ps 109:4#

For my love they are my adversaries: but I give myself unto prayer.

Ps 109:5#

And they have rewarded me evil for good, and hatred for my love.

Ps 109:6#

Set thou a wicked man over him: and let Satan stand at his right hand. (This is still Jesus speaking about Judas. (These are the very words of Jesus Christ, yet not in red.)

Ps 109:7#

When he shall be judged, let him be condemned: and let his prayer become sin.

Ps 109:8#

Let his days be few; and let another take his office.(This is the very Scripture the disciples went by when they elected another to replace Judas. So they had studied and knew the OT Scriptures.)

Ps 109:9#

Let his children be fatherless, and his wife a widow.

Ps 109:10#

Let his children be continually vagabonds, and beg: let them seek their bread also out of their desolate places.(All of this is Jesus praying against Judas and his family. It fits exactly the same pattern as Cain.)

Ps 109:11#

Let the extortioner catch all that he hath; and let the strangers spoil his labour.

Ps 109:12#

Let there be none to extend mercy unto him: neither let there be any to favour his fatherless children.

Ps 109:13#

Let his posterity be cut off; and in the generation following let their name be blotted out.(This is Jesus praying against Judas and his family. It is prophecy for what took place with them.)

Ps 109:14#

Let the iniquity of his fathers be remembered with the LORD; and let not the sin of his mother be blotted out.

Ps 109:15#

Let them be before the LORD continually, that he may cut off the memory of them from the earth.

Ps 109:16#

Because that he remembered not to show mercy, but persecuted the poor and needy man, that he might even slay the broken in heart.

Ps 109:17#

As he loved cursing, so let it come unto him: as he delighted not in blessing, so let it be far from him.(This is Jesus?prayer against Judas)

Ps 109:18#

As he clothed himself with cursing like as with his garment, so let it come into his bowels like water, and like oil into his bones.(This is Jesus praying against Judas)

Ps 109:19#

Let it be unto him as the garment which covereth him, and for a girdle wherewith he is girded continually.

Ps 109:20#

Let this be the reward of mine adversaries from the LORD, and of them that speak evil against my soul.

Ps 109:21#

But do thou for me, O GOD the Lord, for thy name's sake: because thy mercy is good, deliver thou me.

Ps 109:22#

For I am poor and needy, and my heart is wounded within me.

Ps 109:23#

I am gone like the shadow when it declineth: I am tossed up and down as the locust.

Ps 109:24#

My knees are weak through fasting; and my flesh faileth of fatness.

(This is showing that Jesus was weak through fasting and a very thin man; knowledge we do not get from the NT.)

Ps 109:25#

I became also a reproach unto them: when they looked upon me they shaked their heads. (This was when Jesus was on the cross. So, these are his own words. Proof? Mt 27:39 And they that passed by reviled him, wagging their HEADS, Mr 15:29 And they that passed by railed on him, wagging their HEADS, and saying, Ah, thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it in three days,)

Ps 109:26#

Help me, O LORD my God: O save me according to thy mercy:

Ps 109:27#

That they may know that this is thy hand; that thou, LORD, hast done it. (This is Jesus own words, quoting this: Isa 53:4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. Isa 53:10 Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand.)

Ps 109:28#

Let them curse, but bless thou: when they arise, let them be ashamed; but let thy servant rejoice. (This is God speaking back to Jesus and instructing him.)

Ps 109:29#

Let mine adversaries be clothed with shame, and let them cover themselves with their own confusion, as with a mantle. (This is the prayer of Jesus resumed.)

Ps 109:30#

I will greatly praise the LORD with my mouth; yea, I will praise him among the multitude.

Ps 109:31#

For he shall stand at the right hand of the poor, to save him from those that condemn his soul.(This is prophecy about what Jesus will do as part of his ministry.)

It makes me sad to think of what Jesus went through. Thesde things sure show it in a more vivid light. compassed him about with words of hatred. Imagind that. hating Jesus. figh agsint him without a cause.
well its for sure they did do that. he did only good for evernyone, yet where were they when he needed them at the cross?
