You know, Larry, I was pondering this before I read your post.  I was thinking of saying, Wonder why with millions of 'churches' around the U.S., wonder why in all of them, they have produced none with the faith to walk up in the face of a storm and tell it to be still?

It can be done.  I have seen it done.  During the first days of my courtship with B.L., My second husband, I was at this house.  There was a terrible storm raging.  It had trees bent over to the ground; it was threatening to tear down his two story garage building.  He called me to come out into the yard with him.  He said, I want to show you the power of God.

He stood, raised up his hand, and said to that storm, Peace be still.  And as God is my witness, that wind and rain stopped IMMEDIATELY.

I have never seen one like that since, and that was in Dec. 1977.  I know there has been lots of bad storms since then; but I have not witnessed one here.

Jo

In 1974, before My first husband died, we were laying in bed one night.  I kept hearing a loud, roaring noise.  I realized it was something very out of the usual. I became alarmed, for it sounded as if a freight-train were going over our house.  I asked him what is that.  He said it is a tornado.

Then he raised his arm up to God and held it there and prayed the whole time the tornado passed right over our home.  it touched down all around us at that time and did lots of damage in near-by towns, but it did not touch down at our home.  It was a terrifying feeling just laying there and knowing that thing was right above us.  (we lived in a mobile home)  so you know God had to be with us.

Yes, people let faith grow up in you.  It is possible.  God wants us to exercise ourselves unto Godliness and  FAITH.  It is not going to happen and grow unless you  EXERCISE IT.

Pray when you are sick.  Pray for others who are sick.  Pray to cast out devils when you see evidence of their presence.  Pray for God to keep you safe each time you go out on the road.  Pray, pray, and pray some more.  That makes your faith grow.

James said you have not, BECAUSE YOU ASK NOT.

So ask and you  SHALL RECEIVE.

Let's exercise our faith, and make it grow strong.  Only way to please or glorify our wonderful God and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
