Hello I called the AKC  hotline and was told the male had to be at least 7 months old to breed if you want to have the litter AKC as well. Hope this helps... Michelle

AKC does say 7 months to register a litter but that does not mean any 7 month old male is ready to breed.  Many are still pups at that age. I have one that sired his first litter at 15 months old.  At 7 months he was still thinking girls were chew toys.

Michelle, Thanx for your mail! Appreciate your phone call to AKC! Toby was to big to breed w/Tiffany. He weighs about 14 lbs So by AKC standards he is to big. But he's a beauty!! Could be a show dog in my opinion!!! Thank's again!!          Janice & Toby

my boy is 13 pounds but he is all muscles...my vet is always yelling at me to get him in the ring...I tell my vet he is a family dog not a show dog.  My boy has legs like no other min pin I have seen...he can jump into my husbands arms and he is 6ft tall.  He jumps up to my chest and I'm 5'4.  so he can get some height behind him if he wants to jump.
