When you find a possible sire can you also try to
find out if there has been bone breakage in his line. The trouble is
though that most stud owners aren't likely to let you know that. I guess
you'd have to find some of the names & addresses of people that have used
him & ask them about the pups.
Hearing about all these broken limbs is so very sad
so if we're more careful about the genes we carry on- maybe that will be one
cause we can rule out.
I investigated fully before I bred my last Yorkie
& she has strong pettalas (sp?) compared to the ones before her that I used
a different stud for. As far as nutrition importance it's prime also but
in my case I knew they had a good nutritious base thats why I turned to
examining genetic inheritance for that problem.
