Hi, just joined the board. My daughter had a min pin about 10 years ago , that I fell in love with it .About 3 years ago, I took in 7 Min pins when a local puppy mill was shut down. I fostered them and found them homes. I just recently took in a 3 year old girl and 2 year old boy. They were at a puppy mill , too. They have never been handled. Were kept in a pen together , and when she had pups , she had them on her own, and the owner would , in his words, "pull" the pups at 6 weeks, to get them ready to sell. He had automatic feeders, and waterers, so He didn't even feed them each day. I have had them about 3 months , now. The little girl is coming around pretty well. The little boy is a fiesty one. I still wear gloves to handle him. He loves to bite. But he loves vieannia sausages more, so I will win in the long run. I am retired and have a small kennel . I live in the country on 13 acres , and work with our local vet , who is also the local shelter. and take in rescues for him when he gets too many at once, and work with them until they can be adopted out. I raised and trained large breeds ( mainly sight hounds, bird dogs and retrievers) for many years. Also raised and showed siamese cats for years , until I became allergic to them. Now , since I have retired , have time to give back, by doing rescues. I do have some show poms and Bostons, that I am using to teach my granddaughter and grandson how to show, just like my grandmother did with me. She raised pekes. Wanda |

Dear Wanda, Your experiences w/dogs is so
very interesting. I'd love to hear more. Now that I'm a widow &
home all the time I've taken in 4 Rescues of the Pin breed. Also have 2
Chi's, one is a Rescue.
My ultimate dream is to have a larger property w/a
sturdy bldg. that I could invite a Rescue group to use. I could help out
wherever I'm need & would serve as a caretaker as well.
Unfortunately I doubt if my home site would sell
for enuf to afford a larger property. Propery values where I live have sky
rocketed so makes it impossible for most to buy.

It's always nice to hear when people like yourself dedicate time to give animals a better life. I wish I could do it, but living in the city makes it virtually impossible. Good luck with the new boy! |

Dear Wanda,
It is good to hear what you are doing to help the 'little ones' who can not help them selves. I like to rescue animals also. We adopt from the local animal shelter as our contribution to rescues. If you are looking to place the fisty male in a home, I wish you the best of luck. If you end up keeping the fisty male, I wish you the best of luck.
I am looking for a male min pin for my females and since my girls are not papered, it is hard to find one that is not papered. In the end, I will probably end up getting a papered one.
Keep up the rescue work, and thanks for sharing the story. |
