Welcome to the group

mbarnwatt

Dear Michael...It is with deepest sympathy that I welcome you to our group.  I am so sorry for the loss of your precious daughter.

Kelin Rose Barnett

January 4, 1980-September 3, 2008

I understand all to well just how devestating such a loss is...it cripples us with pain.  Your loss is so recent that I know your pain is still excruciating. The loss of a child or grandchild is the most profound emotional pain that anyone will ever experience.

I am glad that you found our group.  It is not often that men seek out a group such as this, but, I am so glad that you did. You are no longer along on this terrible grief journey. There are a lot of kind, compassionate people here, including other mn, who understand what you are going through.  I hope that you will share your joys as well as your sorrow with us. We understand and we care.

May you find peace and gentle healing.

Love and hugs....Rean

Michael
Dear Michael....I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your precious daughter Kelin. As Rean has said, you have come to a loving and caring group who know from experience exactly what you are feeling. Your loss is so very recent that I'm sure you are still in disbelief, and probably feel like you are caught in a bad dream and just can't wake up. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family during this difficult journey. Please feel free to browse the boards as there is some excellent material about grieving if you wish to read. Also remember that we are here for you whenever you need an ear or a shoulder to cry on.
Hugs...Shannon

On behalf of My wife, Theresa , my son Michael II, and myself I want to thank you all for your kind words and acceptance.
It has been just over a month since we lost our Kelin Rose and we're lost without her. She was with us for 28 years of our 31 year marriage. She was not married and lived with us the whole time.
We had welcomed our son Michael II back from Iraq almost a year ago. Unfortunately he arrived home to a failed marriage and brought us our two grandchildren, who we were denied access to by the mother during his absence. He received full custody of the kids (she didn't respond to the divorce proceedings or child custody proceedings).
Kelin and we were overjoyed to get to know these two darlings. They allowed her to be the loving aunt they still refer to as "Our Kel". She would take care of them as though they were her own, watching Care Bear, Lion King and Brother Bear Movies (her favorites) and coloring with them in her room.
She gained 45lbs in one week and was hospitalized two weeks prior to her death. They scratched their heads and released her with a diagnosis of minimal change disorder. She died in her sleep less than a week later.
We are still in denial and filled with anger and guilt at her passing.

Please look at our memorial video on myspace
