Choices
There is much in life that we
do not have any choice in making
a decision that pertains to us.
We do not choose to be born.
We do not choose our parents,
nor the country of our birth.
We do not, most of us, choose to die,
nor the circumstances of our death.
But within all these conditions
we do have the right to choose
certain things within our life.
We choose how we shall live,
honorably or dishonorably,
with purpose or adrift.
We can choose to be happy
or to avoid joy.
We are free to choose whom
we love and whom we don't want to love.
We decide what's important
and what is not in our life.
We decide what we do
and what we refuse to do.
No matter how
indifferent the universe may be
to our choices and decisions,
these choices are our to make.
We decide, we choose.
And in doing this we form our own destiny.
Choose wisely.
But remember, in making your choices
for your life and destiny,
these choices can and will effect others.
